Abba Father: Romans 8 and Romans 1:15
Abba Father: Romans 8 and Romans 1
15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Guest (Male): Yesterday, connecting past. Today, with an outer view. Tomorrow, to understand future. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow is the program that covers current contemporary social issues in the light of our history to understand our yesterday, to live fully today and tomorrow. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow with Inseong Kim.
Inseong J Kim: Hello, this is Inseong Kim from Yesterday Today Tomorrow. We are going to talk about this—this is not preaching, this is not a teaching, this is not a Bible study. This is a conversation that we want to have together. Sometimes we are in a little compartment and we don't know how to have a conversation when culture changes.
I asked AI Copilot, "Can you write about a sermon on the book of Romans chapter one and the book of Romans chapter eight?" I had an interesting outcome from AI regarding the book of Romans in the Bible, chapter eight and chapter one. Chapter one is the most restricted scripture for a season that we were not supposed to preach or talk about. This is not about preaching; we want to digest in the context of the Bible what the Bible was talking about.
AI said, "Not by effort, not by moral improvement, not by self-secure; we get there by grace." That's what AI said. And then it said, "The gospel is not God shouting instruction from the mountain top. The gospel is God descending into a canyon, lifting us onto his shoulder and carrying us up himself." Romans chapter one says you cannot fix this, and then Romans chapter eight says Christ has fixed this. In the book of Romans, chapter one says you are guilty, but Romans chapter eight says you are forgiven.
Chapter one says you are broken, and chapter eight says you are made new. Chapter one says you are far from God, and chapter eight says nothing can separate you from his love. When we read the Bible without the context, we can just pick up the scripture and we can kill people without sharing true hope. When we read the book of Romans, we have to pick up the one thread in the book of Romans chapter eight—that we can call God Abba Father. That is the most powerful scripture that we can hold onto when we are in the deep, deep journey of darkness.
We are created in the image of God, and then there is a downturn of the fallen. Bringing back to us the image of God so that we can call God Abba is the main topic in the book of Romans, not chapter one. Sometimes we preach too much on chapter one and destroy the spirit, and actually don't give hope to the people who really have to come out of the darkness. Start from chapter eight. Book of Romans chapter eight—and we hold onto the scripture that strongly put us together that we can call God Abba Father.
Start with chapter eight, verse 14: "For all who are led by Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as a son by whom we cry Abba Father. And the Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we're children of God." That's where we start. Whatever situation we are in—with social media or legally enforcing our system—whatever the situation that we are in, we start from this scripture.
We get up from here. What to emphasize and what not to emphasize, we have to choose. Condoning is different than condemnation; there should be a separate issue. I was asking about this AI: "What do AI, transhumanism, trafficking, end times, singularity, globalism, and brain chipping have in common biblically?" If we don't have that perspective of these words that I shared—what is happening or where the world is heading—sometimes we are lost. We are busy focusing on the microscopic world that we are captured in this compartment.
We stay in the guilt or shame or all kinds of situations that the world and Satan want us to be in. Understanding the world, where it's heading, and with that view, we see the children's generation. As a parent, what we have to do, how we have to equip, how we have to study, and how we pray for them changes. If we don't, we are going to be in a bad place. Parents can be more harmful to the children because we don't know how to handle these situations.
We live in a world of rapid change. We have to understand AI and transhumanism. We have to understand what transhumanism is, and then we have to pick up the book and start reading about it. What is the global system that they're forcing us into? This is how the monetary system is changing. Why are BlackRock and Vanguard problems? Brain chip technology—what are we doing to our children and what are we encouraging our children to do?
The heartbreaking reality of human trafficking—why is it all associated with human trafficking or sex trafficking with this AI, transhumanism, global system, and brain chipping technology? Without understanding this thread of issues that we are encountering, we might misunderstand and we might not see in the right way with a right perspective. The Bible does not give us headlines, but gives us a timeless pattern. From the ancient to today, nothing's been changed. It's the same story, but it's magnified.
Not only magnified, but it's practically implementing the old story. There is a story from olden times—I'm not going to say a specific location—but there's an altar of human sacrifice that they built. Then there is a priest actually echoing their voices behind this altar, acting like they are the God. All the vulnerable people actually believed that voice was God and listened and bowed down. All kinds of practices happened.
That's real and not even long ago. We have to understand how much the Christians in America brought the light to the world. We don't even comprehend what missionaries did to the culture. We only focus on social media on how America was bad and did wrong things. That's one side of the story. But many people, probably a lot of immigrants, came here because of the missionary that came to the dark culture and saved people from this incredible ignorance of idol worship in the deep culture.
We're in a spiritual war because a lot of missionaries went out and fought all those spiritual battles. Then that battleground became our territory. Understanding that perspective will give us a view of how we're going to respond to the culture and to the children. We're dealing with different kinds of spiritual war, definitely. Reading scripture, reading an encouraging book, and understanding what is happening help us to navigate and not lose hope.
Stay there as God promised us: that we are the children of God. That is our identity. Yes, we're American and we're very proud to be American, but at the end of the day, we are children of God. Our children go through so much turmoil with all kinds of issues. It started with social media, and now AI is harming our children in all kinds of ways. The algorithm is working against our children. Let's just share a little bit.
When I asked the right question, AI gave me a proper answer for the book of Romans chapter eight and chapter one. If the AI can give me this information, then where is the dark information entering into children's lives? How does it happen? That's what we have to find out. There is something behind AI that is not just AI; actual humans are behind the AI doing evil things. In the olden days, a priest was echoing their voice, pretending to be a god and bringing a totally dark culture.
It's the same today. We blame AI for everything, but when you ask a proper question, sometimes it gives hope in a proper way. What is happening behind the AI? That's what we have to find out. We all raise the question, "What does it mean to be a human?" Clearly, the Bible said humans are made in the image of God. What does that mean? Not a machine, not a product, and not a programmable object. This is what AI is saying—not a machine, not a product, and not a programmable object.
Is AI enforcing these brain chippings and all this pseudoscience—Nazi practices—on humans, or are humans doing it behind it? AI, transhumanism, and brain chipping challenge the boundary of humanity. They raise the question about identity, consciousness, and human limits. They echo the ancient temptation: "You will be like God." Are we trying to strive to be a god, and can we ever be a god? That's the question that we have to ask ourselves.
Human trafficking is the opposite of God's design. It's destroying humanity. It treats image-bearers as commodities. Scripture condemns this in Exodus 21:16 and Amos 2:6. Scripture condemns this—the undermining and destroying of human life. How does it work? Breaking humans with abuse and then taking over the minds of the people who are broken. That's not God's way. Where are Christians standing on this? How do we equip people to put ourselves together and not lose ourselves, staying on the strong foundation of God's word?
We are created in the image of God. The restoration happened in the book of Romans chapter eight. Rather than just talking about Romans chapter one out loud, let's start from chapter eight and read that chapter first. Then everything falls into the right place. Right now in our generation, people are going through so many different situations that we never even imagined. Things that happened in ancient times or different countries, different kinds of people invading Christian communities.
How we deal with this is knowing the scripture in a proper way and how we approach it is absolute love of God. Absolute love of God. Not even waving from the fact that God actually sent his son unto death clearly communicates how much God loves us. We cannot undermine or undercut God's love. We have to be able to really comprehend the love of God, especially during the time that we're experiencing today. We have to be first of all equipped and spiritually charged up in prayer.
We must be busy saving not just ourselves or our families, but people around us who are drowning. Rather than gossiping, condemning, or isolating, because people are desperate. Like in the previous program that we shared about "Battle Cry," parents are suffering from this subtle invasion of Christian families. We are shocked and don't know how to handle this. Yet we are not living in the moment; we're living in eternity. Story changes when we have an eternal perspective.
I want all of us to be encouraged. Whatever situation that you are in, the depth of darkness is deeper than ever before. Destroying humanity goes beyond our comprehension. But the Spirit of God can actually restore the human in the conditions that God created. God is real. I believe I saw many people and the miracle that God is restoring from whatever situation they're in, whether walking in a dark time or a dark place.
This all involves the misuse of the concentration of power that we're dealing with—AI, transhumanism, globalism, everything. Power is a biblical theme from Genesis to Revelation. Babel shows humanity uniting in self-exaltation in Genesis chapter 11. Not unity for righteousness, but unity for pride. Technology, ambition, and rebellion are a danger. We don't see that clearly; we see it through a different lens.
A modern parallel is a global system used for good or for domination. In the name of good, they take away our freedom or abuse humans with pseudoscience. It's invading our culture to be chaotic and destructive. That's something we should be aware of. Each parent has to be a pastor or a minister. We cannot just hope for somebody else to do our job. As parents, we all have to be equipped.
We're living in a different time, so we all have to be equipped to be a minister to our own family. Technology can liberate us or control us. Trafficking is power used to destroy. Why is it prevalent all around us suddenly? And why are we more aware of these issues? It's good news that we're more aware of it. We should not live in fear, but as we can call God Abba Father, we enter this spiritual realm knowing who we are.
Help people all around us, pray for them, and encourage them. First of all, we should just share the hope that God is good and God has an end story. We are living in the midst of it. Revelation shows the symbolic image of the oppressive system. As we know throughout history, it was always there from time to time. It was like a wave. It was in the dark, and then God used people to liberate them and deliver them, and then it went back to dark.
It was a cycle. It's another cycle that we're experiencing with the dark culture. People who think they are smart and have all the solutions for humanity don't know that, despite the good intention of those technologies, we don't see how they are harming current humanity. That's something that we should voice and address. I heard that South Korea is implementing AI law and restricting some areas because they experienced it beforehand.
They saw that mental illness is causing problems among people using AI—confusion and misinformation. All those bring chaos to society. Before it gets worse, we have a choice. We're inviting this dark time to ourselves; it's inevitable. Or we can ban and regulate it to have sanity in this society. At this time, we don't know which one is truth and which one is a lie. That's how confusing it is.
I think clearly journalism has become trash in our time because nobody is really researching and studying, just sharing things that they never really deeply understood. People are hungry for the truth. That's why I think there were a lot of followers of Charlie Kirk—because people thought that Charlie Kirk had the truth. Then it became chaotic again. It's not about following one person; it's about following the scripture.
Truth is in the Bible. Anchor your soul to the Bible and stay there to truly understand who we are. Identity crisis comes from not knowing who we are. At the end of the day, we're children of God. God gave us a privilege to call him Abba Father. We can have a 911 call—a direct call to our Father. We don't need a mediator. We don't need somebody in between us.
We have the power of prayer that God gave us and instilled in every individual child of God that calls God Abba Father. Pray for ourselves, our children, our families, our communities, our nation, and globally against those trying to bring clouds to humanity. Thank you for listening to Yesterday Today Tomorrow. Please listen to our program, share it with friends and family, and don't forget we are loved. Then love those around us unconditionally. Thank you.
