Word of God
Nathan means “giver” and came from נָתַן . One of many meanings of nathan in Hebrew is “give”.
Actually Nathan was a gift from God for David. But when God confronted David, God used Nathan in a gentle way. Accusation is different than confrontation. When we are accused, we feel condemned, but when we are confronted by the Holy Spirit, God allows us to repent and we become closer to God. The Holy Spirit is God’s breath, his love. It is like a father holding a child close when they fall on the ground.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.
(Isaiah 40:8)
