Freedom in Christ: God is Omnipresent

June 22, 2014
We have been studying the attributes of God in Psalms. Today, I would like to finish our study, the attribute of God. One of the character of God that is revealed in the Bible is God is free. Psalm 139 described well about the attribute of God, God is everywhere. We call this term in a theological term, Omnipresence. God is neither lock up by our regulation nor is played by man-made scripts. Because of this character of God, there is creativity and freedom in the society that is made by these people who believe freedom in Christ. The freedom that I am talking about is different than rebellion. Our culture specifically teaches young generation rebellion, not the freedom. It is disguised freedom that actually brings people to the bondage of sins and chaos. As far as the true freedom goes, we have to reference the Bible that teaches us the healthy freedom. The book of Galatians describes very well about the sound doctrine of freedom. Our heart goes out to you!

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

Psalm 23
We live in a broken world with full of challenges, failures, and disappointments. As life continues, many unknowns lie before us that can weigh us down, inflicting wounds that often get buried or ignored. We have been created to thrive in our relationships with God, our family, our neighbors and ourselves. By knowing that God is our Good Shepherd, understanding the identity that we have as his precious sheep, we can find rest and healing in our souls. Through this humble book, Healing Through Psalm 23, may God comfort you who are suffering, who are in pain, who need forgiveness; may you know God, walk confidently and grow into the maturity of coming alongside others in their journey of healing.

Happy Father's Day!Our Heavenly Father has not changed. He still waits for us to come back to Him fully without any reservation. He is LOVE. Many of us who are called "bayboomers" are experiencing awakening from our youth and the wisdom from God through our experiences. Every generation lays a foundation for the next generation. We work hard to help our next generation (our children) live a better life than us. That is our natural father's heart. When we come back HOME where our Heavenly Father is, our family comes back home. We want to welcome our guest who is a pioneer in the issue of father in our generation. Vance Simms is Founder and Executive Director of Father Matters. Father Matters is an organization where fathers can be mentored by other fathers or fathers can mentor other fathers. “Father” is a very important concept in the Bible. There are various expressions about the relationship between God and us in the Bible. Apart from all of the expression of the relationship between God and us, the unique relationship between God and us is the father and son relationship. None of the creation has the unique relationship like we do. Without knowing the heart of God as a loving father, we have not known God at all. The whole theme about the Bible is about this loving Father. When we get to the place in the Bible where God gave His only begotten son to us, we change our whole perspective about whom we really are. This Heavenly Father loves you! 'but My lovingkindness shall not depart from him," (2 Samuel 7:15)

There is hope! Our hope is not dead hope, but the living hope. Even if we struggle with our pain or anguish spiritually or physically or relationally, our hope is fixed on the hope of eternal, the hope of the King of Kings, the hope of our creator, and the hope of the author of our life. 1 Peter 1:13 13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 4:10 10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. Hebrew 10:23 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; You are raising a wonderfully and carefully made human being who is made in God’s image. This is a great reminder for us to be careful and sincere to our calling even if our culture robs our focus from what we are really called for.

God is loving-kind. God validated our pain at the cross for us. We can learn to validate other's pain without any judgement or condemnation. God wants us to be one who transfer His heart to others.  The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.(Psalm 34:18) Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.…(Psalm 103:14) Our guest is Kelly Cassady who is a professional Christian couselor at Sun City, Arizona. His deep understanding for those who are wounded can be a wonderful gift of healing for many of us. He shares the love of Jesus in a unique way. If you need any help, please call (623)-293-8527

When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit. (John 19:30) These words, “It is finished” shares the same root word “Shalom” in Hebrew. If we read “Aramaic English New Testiment”, we can find the true meaning of “It is finished.” It is not only the business transaction term, “paid in full”, but also emotional language of forgiveness as well. He paid in full to Himself, to His own justice (Job 41:11). Only people who experienced the insult and unjust can partake this privilege of being treated unjustly, yet forgiving them over and over again. His words "It is finished." were peaceful and gentle. It is like  "."   of a sentense or like a seal on a contract, yet is a powerful love language. It shook the earth. Can we meditate this words, "Shalom", what it means while we are celebrating Easter? Do'nt forget Jesus! Our pain and sorrow allow us to access to this PEACE. Shalom everyone! For more detail, visit www.inhislove.tv.

"He Saw You What an incredible journey Jesus made;
what an overwhelming expression of love He undertook;
what an awesome purpose He had in mind.
You were on His heart.
When He left His home in heaven,
He saw you;
when He became a man on earth,
He was seeking you;
when He stretched out His hands upon the cross,
He was reaching out to you;
when He returned to His Father,
He was preparing a place for you.
You are the sheep He has come to shepherd, to guide,
to feed, to protect, to shelter, and to carry.
You are the one He calls His own."
-Roy Lessin The word, lovingkindness is used roughly about 200 times in the Old Testiment. Mostly, it is used in Psalms, which is used 127 times. Especially, Psalm 136 is composed with 26 verses. Each verse contains the Hebrew word, "His loving-kindness is everlasting". I would like to highlight the verse 23-26. Who remembered us in our low estate, For His lovingkindness is everlasting, And has rescued us from our adversaries, For His lovingkindness is everlasting;(Psalm 136:23-24)

When David found out that his fall was related to the salvation of God in a grade scale, he got up to finish the war with Ammonites at Rabbah. The Bible is the only book gives us hope when there is death. Children of God are the only group of people who can sing and praise in the hopeless situation. Without experiencing the forgiveness of God and the power of the resurrection, David would have not able to get up and finished the war when Joab visited him and ask him to finish the war with Ammonites. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.(Psalm 9:10)“The Lord your God is in your midst,A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.(Zephaniah 3:17) And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Rev. 19:16)

The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.(Psalm 9:9-10) As we face some difficult times as a nation, we hear many voices that disturb us in medias. We appreciate the truth about the reality of our nation, but we would like to hear hope with the solutions. Oppressing public with fear only paralyze them more than motivate them to arise. Most of people in America were immigrated in some point, whether in their parent’s generation, grandparents’ generation or great grandparents generation. Somehow, they built this nation from pretty much nothing. But many had their faith in God. Let’s think of the time when it was worse than today. Sharing hope and encouragement is a godly thing to do as believers. There are many family members who are going through difficult times. As a body of Christ, we should build each other up."Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises." (James 5:13). The king David praised and prayed whenever he encountered the difficult times.
