The God’s Great Outdoors Fun Family Fossil Hunt is the topic of this week’s program as Gerry interviews Dr. John Whitmore about this adventure. The event takes place annually in August, and those attending can keep the fossils that they find. How hard is it to find these fossils? Dr. John Whitmore, who teaches geology at Cedarville University, has even had two blind students take his class and they are able to find fossils at this Ohio location. The two discuss all the evidence of Noah’s flood, and how there are scientists who misinterpret many of the facts of this biblical event.

Gerry joins Bruce and Anne Marie Parker as they discuss their brown bear hunting business in Sitka, Alaska, located on Admiralty Island. This island boasts far more brown bears then it does people, and it is one of the prime locations to hunt these bruins that can get up to 12 feet tall. This couple runs the business from a converted and completely remodeled tuna trawler, where they also home school their children while on the job. They share how they met, and how Jesus Christ is first in their lives in all that they do, including their contact with clients.

Gerry and Cyndi share with the listeners about the daily operations and program production for God’s Great Outdoors Ministry. The two reflect on some of the interesting experiences that they have had in the 17 years that the program has been on the air, and even share about unique questions and ideas some people have when they call the home office in West Milton, Ohio. Most of all, this couple is blessed by the notes and comments, plus the folks share with them how much they are praying for their work and the efforts they are putting forth to reach lost outdoorsmen and equip the saints on how to become active in outdoor outreach.

Paul Gathany is the guest on this week’s program as he visits with Gerry and reflects on his 40+ years in Christian radio. Paul and his good friend, Dr. David Jeremiah, started WCDR in their college dorm with 1 watt of power, and on a good day you could hear it throughout the building. It was Paul Gathany who took a chance on the crazy idea Gerry had for a radio program called God’s Great Outdoors.

He has already produced more than three years' worth of material, and is working on more so the follow-up and Bible studies can continue and help Christians grow in their walk with Jesus Christ.

This week’s interview is with Ron Vining from Polestar Ministry. This is a group that takes young people on hunting and fishing trips in lieu of their parents, who have no idea how to do outdoor activities, yet the kids want to get started. This ministry was started in Powell, Wyoming where Ron lives, but has expanded to other areas and is making a difference in the lives of these young people, as the program is also set up to present the Gospel. Also, they will include the parents if they want to take part and learn how to do these activities so one day they can join their children on the adventures.

This week’s program is a time with Dave Battle in Anchorage, Alaska as he shares about the way that he was raised to believe in Jesus, the Bible, and creation. However, in his college years everything he was being taught as he studied to be a wildlife biologist was telling him, not only was evolution a fact but there wasn’t even a God necessary for life to exist. An eye-opening look at how each skull from the different species has been intricately designed for that animal to exist at all.

The founder of The Christian Deer Hunters Association, Dr. Tom Rakow, is joined by his wife, Beth, as the two share on difficulties that the couple has had through their many years of ministry together. Beth gives a very interesting and eye-opening testimony of how prayer worked for them through their struggles and even a day when Tom was certain that someone was praying for him and they discovered who it was sometime later. God answers prayer!
