Gerry joins with Russell Thornberry, Executive Editor of Buckmaster Magazine, on an outreach hunt in Ohio. Russ describes to the listeners how to properly prepare and dress for hunting while sitting in the treestand all day long even if the temperature is minus 40 degrees. Russ makes the point that it is as much of a challenge psychologically as it is to have the proper equipment to be able to endure these temperatures comfortably and have a successful hunt. This program is as much addressing safety as it is the practicality of being in these extreme temperatures.

A trip to 3Rivers Archery in Ashley, IN, and time spent with the owners Dale and Sandi Karch, is a trip down memory lane. The couple look back on how they got interested in traditional archery, Dale’s building the Tomahawk Bows, and their desire to have 3Rivers Archery sell the Tomahawks brought them to a point of being offered an opportunity to buy the business. Together, the two look at this beginning, the changes through the years, and how it has blessed their children, now giving them grandchildren, and their boys’ involvement with the family business today. They realize they wouldn’t be where they are if it wasn’t for the Creator God, and how He has had His hand in their lives.

This week’s guest, Dave Lemaire, shares with Gerry about the men’s river rafting adventures he leads every summer down one of the king salmon rivers in Alaska. Dave looks back on how he got started working with men’s ministry, and the impact he saw it have in those who attended the very first outing he did for a church in Alaska. The men who joined together on that trip 6 months after the adventure could still remember everything that the speaker had said, and it was obvious to Dave that men in a men’s environment can be deeply ingrained with God’s Word.
