LIVING THROUGH THE ROUGH STUFF

October 2, 2023

here’s an old saying that goes, “There are no atheists in a fox hole”, this week we’ll hear that the same is true in a prisoner war camp.

All of us have been in a prison in our lives at some time or another.  Sin has put many of us in a prison of our own making through our lives.  On this week’s show we’ll meet a deer hunter that spent a year in a North Korean prison, being beaten daily.  We’ll hear how their crew's boat, The Pueblo, was taken and their crew was captured and about how God provided through it all.
Join our host Dean Hulce as he spends  some time with someone that lived through something  as close as there is to a hell on earth.  Come along as we travel down The Trail To Adventure.

Everyone of us in the USA owes a great debt of gratitude to so many that have willingly gone out to protect our freedoms.  The old saying, “all gave some,  but some gave all” is made clear on this week’s program as we talk to a retired special service veteran that today is still giving of himself to serve those that gave so much.  Come along on the Trail to Adventure as we visit with the head of the F.E.W. (Foundation of Exceptional Warriors) and hear about some great things that are being done with and for our veterans.

The trumpet and bugle have been used for generations to call us together, to wake soldiers up in the morning and put them to bed. We raise and lower the flag to the sound of the horn and we say goodbye to our fallen soldiers.  Someday, maybe soon, it will call all God’s children home to be with Him for all eternity. On this weeks show our guest is known around the world for his trumpet playing, but he also loves to care for widows, orphans and those in need and he loves hunting and fishing.  Come along now as we travel down The Trail to Adventure and listen for that last trumpet call.

The giant aspens of the western mountain are one of the largest known organisms in the world.  It is not well know that many of the large groves of aspens are all connected to one another.  The roots grow out from one tree and often send up shoots that become another tree.  Often times Ministries grow in the same fashion.   One ministry sets roots and grows and as it matures it sends out roots and a new ministry springs forth and grows strong. Many years ago God gave today’s guest a vision to start an organization called Christian Bow Hunters of America.  From the roots of that organization God lead Gerry Caillouet to build God’s Great Outdoors.  And the rest as they say is history.

God gives all of His children gifts that are meant to be used to His glory. Some of our gifts prove that God has a sense of humor. Today’s guest has spent his entire life traveling from town to town all around North America singing, playing his collection of harmonicas and doing an amazing impersonation of one of the most loved TV stars of the 1960’s, Barney Fife. Today our guest still travels and shares God’s word through music and laughter… and now he does it with his wife and his youngest daughter. Join this week as we travel down The Trail to Adventure, in God’s Great Outdoors for laughter and tears along with some amazing harmonica playing and a wonderful message.

Cooler Mornings are here and crops like corn are beginning to ripen.  Days are getting shorter and the feel of fall is in the air.  Fisherman are starting to plan for the drop in water temperatures and those that plant foot plots are beginning to work soils for fall plantings.  This week we’ll share some great hunting and fishing stories with a good friend and  We’ll share in the soil preparation and planting of food plots.  Then we’ll discuss how sharing the good news of Jesus Christ is like preparing a seed bed, planting seeds, water and harvesting.  Come along now as we join Dean and his guest as we venture into Gods Great Outdoors, planting seeds down The Trail to Adventure.
