Hunting for dinosaur bones in Alaska is the discussion as Gerry interviews Dr. John Whitmore who is both a paleontologist and a geologist teaching at Cedarville University. They look at the book that John wrote with Buddy Davis and Mike Liston titled The Great Alaskan Dinosaur Adventure. This story is of the 5 men who went above the Arctic Circle looking for unfossilized dinosaur bones from reports generated by theUniversity of Alaska.

Josh’s Hope is the topic of this weeks adventure as Gerry interviews Jeff & Terri Olson. The foundation was started because of their 12 year old son’s love for the outdoors and his struggles getting there because of a severe bowel disorder which eventually claimed his life.

The owner of four World Series rings, the last two acquired as one of the relief pitchers for the Boston Red Sox, Mike Timlin is this weeks guest. Mike shares how his dad abandoned the family and he never really knew him. This is related to the Fathers to Future Men Pheasant Hunt each year in South Dakota for boys who have been abused or abandoned by their dads.

The Robertson family is the most well known group of duck hunters in the world and produces an assortment of duck hunting calls. Willie shares his father’s powerful testimony and how he created the family business that is so well-known in the outdoor industry today.

Answers in Genesis founder Ken Hamm visits with Gerry at the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ken shares how he as a teacher started to realize how many students were being affected by evolution and began to seek God on how to share the truth of creation. The listeners are off to the Panhandle of Alaska in Sitka, to meet Kyle Ferguson. Kyle shares how as a little boy he planned on joining the Army and was diagnosed with an illness that called for his discharge. He prayed to receive Christ and started doing the second thing he had planned after the Army, which was becoming a police officer. This interview closes with a “the rest of the story” which has to do with an unborn baby and the decision that The Fergusons had to make about terminating the pregnancy.

Dr. Larry Guthrie who is on the board of GGO shares of how he came to know Jesus Christ and then fully committed his life to the Lord. Gerry and Buddy talk about his adventure with four other men inside the Arctic Circle where they looked for unfossilized dinosaur bones. This couple funs an outfitting business guiding brown bear hunters and those who wish to pursue southeast Alaska’s mountain goat population. They relate how they got the business started and the unique way this couple got together and eventually became husband and wife.

About Dean Hulce

Dean Hulce was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he spent every weekend in the woods or on the water with family and friends.  After graduation he married his highschool sweetheart Linda.  They have two boys and 5 grandchildren. 

Dean has written for several hunting and fishing magazines over the last 25 years. He has guided  hunters and fisherman as well as run hunting fishing camps from South Texas to Alaska and many states and provinces in between.  In the last 10 years Dean has written a daily devotional that goes out to thousands each day. He had published 5 devotional books, using hunting stories to bring a message to people.  He has traveled across the USA speaking to groups, spreading the gospel through outdoor experiences.

Dean has no doubt that God has prepared him his entire life for his position with God's Great Outdoors Ministry
