God's Great Outdoors

Calling in a wild turkey for harvest is a very exciting and rewarding experience.  But spending time in God’s Great Outdoors with others that build us up in the Lord is more rewarding.   On today’s show we’ll join our host, Dean Hulce, as he hosts a God’s Great Outdoors turkey hunt in NW Wisconsin.  Join the round table discussion as the hunter laugh, share their great hunting stories and share their faith. 

Most of us grow up with a dream of what we would like to do for the rest of our lives.  Some of us want to be professional athletes, some doctors and some of us grew up wanting to hunt or fish for the rest of our lives…  this was the case for our host, Dean Hulce and for today’s guest, Dan Eigen, who ended up making his living guiding fisherman in the walleye capitol of the world, Brainerd, Minnesota. Dean and Dan are both fighting cancer and share how God is working.

This week's show finds our host with Paul Gathany, one of God's Great Outdoors board members and a somewhat of this ministry's historians.  We'll hear how Paul got his divine appointment into radio at a young age and how that played into the beginning of this ministry and continues today, 26 years later.Then we'll hear about some upcoming fishing at Rushing Wind camp in Northwest Ontario for some big walleyes, northern pike and other species. Cone join us on The Trail To Adventure  as we head into God's Great Outdoors.

This week Dean’s guest is back from two weeks ago.  With such a great response from so many people asking for the “Paul Harvey” version…  The Rest of the Story.  Our guest Steve Nooyen shares how God has used his business to fund ministry to work to serve others as Jesus did.  His life is based on Ephesians 2:10 which talks about the Christian is called to Good Works.  Join us as we talk about how God is moving in the outdoors in service to those that struggle to be able to get out on their own.

On today’s show we’ll be talking with Don Blume, a man living in the middle of beautiful far northern Wisconsin. Don lost his father as a very young boy and grew up with a fulltime man in his life.  Now, because of health issues He’s had to leave what he’s always known and he’s following a new call by God to reach out to disciple men to be the husbands, fathers and leaders God calls them to be.

Come along as we’ll spend some time with a man that has spent his entire working life caring for others and now is spending his time and efforts serving others in the outdoors.   He’s learned the secret to fulfillment in life by giving back and in the process sharing the gift that Jesus Christ gave us.So come along on The Trail To Adventure as we head into the woods of Northern Wisconsin on God’s Great Outdoors.

As we go through life, day by day we, if we look closely, we will see God’s shaping and pruning of our lives.  There is growth that comes on slowly that we never notice and some growth that comes on quickly when we’ve been taken unaware.  God sees it all and He is ready to cut away those things that are growing us in an unhealthy direction.    There are times when the trimming and pruning is a somewhat painful process…  But these are the times when we grow the strongest and in the best direction.  This week on God’s Great Outdoors, Our host will talk to someone that loves the outdoors, loves the Lord and knows how to raise Christmas trees.    Come along as we hear how pruning trees is similar to how God prunes and trains His children.  Come join us on the Trail to Adventure as we explore how God is working on each of us to make us into what all He wants us to be.

It is amazing how God puts His children together to do His will.   We often make our plans and go about our business, thinking our future is set, but God has other plans for us.  If you feel God has stopped your progress and life seems to be going in a different direction than planned, don’t give up on Him.  His plans will prevail and when we give Him all the glory, He might just give you the desires of your heart. 

Most of us have seen the TV show Deadliest Catch, but few of us have lived out that life.  On God’s Great Outdoors program we will meet a pastor that grew up in the lifestyle of the commercial fisherman.  A life of hard work, tremendous challenge and unimaginable tragedy leads today’s guest to an angry life.  So come along on THE TRAIL TO ADVENTURE as we head out of the North Atlantic is search of Lobster and Cod as well as God’s leading.

The sounds of spring for a turkey hunter is a thrilling sound.  Calling gobblers to the call of a hunter goes against the natural process of things… but we’ll hear today that it sure is fun and exciting. Two young men and relatively new turkey hunters join us and share their favorite turkey hunting experiences.
