This week’s program has us visiting the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio. Gerry visits with ministry founder Ken Hamm and discusses the topic of how sin, then death has affected the world since Adam and Eve. This program will clearly help the listeners understand what took place in the beginning and how God’s gift to us was His son Jesus who paid the penalty for all our sins, past, present and future, if we receive that gift.

Fire, shelter, food and water are the fouressential elements one needs to survive for an extended period in the outdoors. The author of the book “The Ripple Effect”, Todd Freiwald, shares about his youth and learning how importantthese skills were in his outdoor adventures. Coming to Christ and then becoming a father made him realize how important walking with the Lord was. So as his children grew, he developed asurvival program that taught them, not only to survive in the outdoors, but also to survive everyday life by applying principles illustrated in God’s Word to the four survival skills. This is an excellent book to help with mentoring one’s children or in a group setting for churches, ministries,or Christian camps.

He explains how itwas a life changing event and that decisions were made that changed the way he and his wifelive. Exploring how two guys, David Hale who was afarmer, and Harold Knight a barber, got together to design, develop and market turkey calls, is the topic ofthis program. Gerry visits with these two legends in the outdoor world to discover that the only reason theystarted to sell their calls was because there weren’t many turkeys in Kentucky and they hoped to be able tomake enough to buy a non-resident hunting license in Missouri. Giving one of these calls to an outdoorwriter way back when there weren’t many turkeys to start with, created quite a stir. His article in an outdoormagazine drove in hundreds of phone calls to get one of their “turkey tubes” and it just went on from there. Both these men give all the glory to God for what has happened in their lives and they continue to praiseHim as the years roll by.

Exploring, probably the most significant geologicalevent in the 20th century, the eruption of Mt. Saint Helen’s was a turning point for Dr. Steve Austin. As anundergrad geology student he was able to explore and discover firsthand how this catastrophe affected thelandscape, including a one-fortieth scale of the Grand Canyon, in only three days. During this time Dr.Austin switched from a Christian “old earth” geologist, to a “young earth” geologist, believing the biblicalaccount of 6000 years of earth’s age from seeing layer upon layer of earth that was laid down by volcaniceruptions in minutes, not hundreds of thousands of year as he had been taught.
