On this week’s Trail To Adventure! Gerry is at an outdoor outreach event and meets with the 1991 National Predator Calling Champ Steve Collins. Gerry first met Steve at the 10th annual Christian Bow-hunters shoot at Maranatha Bible Camp near North Platte, Nebraska. Steve shares how he got involved in the outdoors duck hunting with his dad, and how his love of the outdoors landed him a job at Sidney, Nebraska's Cabela's store. He relates how his boss Burt Harris gently guided him to Christ over a two-year period. He also tells the amazing story of how his son Keith was led to Christ and the transformation of this man is part of the two previous programs aired and next week's program as well.

On this week’s Trail To Adventure! Gerry is visiting with Dr. Richard Swenson in Wisconsin and the two are talking about Intelligent Design. The truth is there is more of a chance mathematically that your car happened by accident over hundreds of millions of years, then just your eyeballs having evolved and how they work with your entire body? This is just one of the things that Dr. Richard Swenson shares in the interview with Gerry as they discuss this topic and Dr. Swenson’s book, “More Than Meets the Eye”. Having taught surgery at the University of Madison, Wisconsin, and having minored in physics, this interview is jam-packed with information that declares that we have a Creator God. Perhaps the most listened to interview aired by GGO in the 20+ years we’ve been broadcasting.

This week’s Trail To Adventure! program, Gerry is at Maranatha Bible Camp in Maxwell, Nebraska near North Platte. Gerry and past camp director, George Cheek, look back on how the camp had its beginning and some of the events that have occurred at this facility that have impacted lives for eternity. Gerry talks about his first visit, the 10th annual Christian Bowhunters of America National Shoot. There he met George Cheek, and also Burt Harris and Steve Collins, who have not only been guests on God’s Great Outdoors radio program, but have been a part of different events that the ministry has done across the country as well. There is so much more that could be said that has occurred because of the first visit to Maranatha, so time will be spent on this in the next three programs.

Host of The Sportsmen’s Channel, television show Leading Ladies Outdoors, Tammy Koenig visits with Gerry at the Mathews Dealership Show in the Dells, Wisconsin. Tammy share show she got involved in archery and was an avid animal rights person. Yet when told “Yeah you can shoot good at targets, but women can’t hunt.” and after a close encounter with a deer, she decided to try hunting. From all of this she became a bow staff pro, was featured on a number of television programs, and now has her own program with her daughter Brittney. Tammy also reveals her abusive life growing up and how it affected her and how she eventually came to know Jesus as her savior.

On this week's Trail To Adventure! Gerry’s interview is with Dennis and Peggy Robinson who relate an experience that happened when they were dairy farmers in Wisconsin. Dennis placed himself before God and everything in his life was about him and what he wanted in life. His wife Peggy had turned him over to the Lord and said, "You need to deal with him, Lord, he is yours." Two days later Dennis was pulled half way through a hay wagon mechanical apparatus and was not expected to live from the massive injuries he received. Yet, God had a plan, and it included transforming a man to be what God wanted him to be. Clearly this is an interview we can all benefit from and a direction to move to also!

On this week’s The Trail To Adventure! listeners will be moved to consider an evangelistic outdoor outreach archery program for their church. The topic of this interview is CenterShot Archery, and how an increasing number of churches are bringing bows into their buildings. This ministry teaches the sport and discipline of shooting the bow & arrow, plus ties it in with teaching God’s Word to those attending, with each lesson. Mike Ritchie from Roscommon Baptist Church in Michigan, shares how he and his ministry team are using this program, and a number of other outdoor outreach programs, to touch the lives of men, women and children with the Gospel Message through God’s Creation. The reward is seeing lives changed for eternity and trips to the Bambi Lake for baptisms!

On this week’s Trail To Adventure! Gerry is with a couple, who help the owners of Rushing Wind Retreat Center in Ontario, Canada minister to military veterans. Gerry’s in Black River Falls, WI with Berry and Holly Feig. Barry shares about his personal struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and many of his fellow veterans as well. Arnie Wolf had told Barry of his desire to do some type of wounded warrior (style) event at his fishing camp located a little over an hour above International Falls, Minnesota. So, Berry and Holly feeling God’s call to assist Arnie and his wife Dee, in this greatly needed area of ministry started helping. Since the onset of this special week it has grown in attendance and in the scope of how it’s helping other Vets with their struggles too. That’s why their call is going out to any and all military veterans, plus their spouses to join in this event as well!

Now this week’s Trail To Adventure! program has us visiting the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio. Gerry visits with this ministries founder Ken Ham and he discusses the topic of how sin, then death has affected the world since Adam and Eve. Ken shares the consequences of sin on the human race spelled out in the book of Genesis on the first man Adam and how this was overcome by our Creator God. God did this by his Son, Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. This program will clearly help the listeners understand what took place in the beginning and how God’s gift to us was His son Jesus who paid the penalty for all our sins, past, present and future, by His blood that was shed on the cross! That is, if we receive that gift.

On this Trail To Adventure! Gerry’s with the Len & Gail Marcott who are from the “Cheese Head State,” during a trip to Rushing Wind Retreat Center in Ontario, Canada. Len shares how God worked in his and two of his son’s lives seven years before this interview on their first trip to Rushing Wind. This is a fly in fishing an adventure you can take someone on where they’ll have the Creator God speak to them by way of the outdoors, speakers and fellowship of others! This camp is operated for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to all that visit this remote wilderness area.
