The event takes place annually in August at Caesar Creek State Park and those attending can keep the fossils that they find. How hard is it to find these fossils? Dr. Whitmore, who teaches geology at Cedarville University, has even had two blind students take his class and they were able to find fossils at this Ohio location. Dr. John Whitmore is considered the world’s expert on fossilized fish and this is from his extensive work in the Green River area of Wyoming. He shares on his expeditions to that area of North America on research projects he does.
