This week’s Trail To Adventure! Radio Program has the listeners going back into the Cheese Head State and recording the interview at the Prayz Network in Sparta, Wisconsin. Gerry has hooked up with Matt McPherson, the owner of Mathews Bows, which is located in the same city as the radio station. Sparta is where a number of different products are produced, including the McPherson Guitar besides the bow company, both of these by Matt. This design engineer and manufacturer shares how he got involved in the sport archery as a child and also relates his own bow building efforts. In 2017 Mathews, Inc. celebrated 25 years in the archery business, giving God all the credit, honor and Glory! This week’s guest on the Trail To Adventure! radio broadcast is Erland Brager. Gerry is with him, as he’s traveled from Ohio to Hudson, Wisconsin, because he is the keynote speaker for a game dinner put on by a group of St. Croix River sportsmen. Even though the location for the event is at Faith Community Church in Hudson, this evangelistic outreach has seven churches from the surrounding area that join together annually to make it happen. Erland tells how the event got started and evolved simply because of a tour at Mathews Bow Factory by a group of men and their meeting of Matt McPherson. One man on that trip made a life changing decision in his walk with Jesus Christ and the other men could see how outdoor outreach ministry can work!

On this week's Trail to Adventure! Gerry is with a guest, who on being asked to help a woman load a road kill deer into the trunk of her car so that she could feed her hungry family, had an incredible and moving impact on him. Rick Wilson was that man and visits with the listeners to tell the story on this God’s Great Outdoors broadcast production. Challenged by this event, Rick felt God was calling him to in some way help people who were struggling with hunger issues when it comes to meat and was led to start the ministry Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry. From this little incident and the beginning of this ministry in the Hagerstown, MD area, FHFH has expanded across the nation, seeing numerous people fed by deer harvested by hunters in the fall each year.

This week’s Trail To Adventure! has Ex-Philadelphia Eagles football player, Rich Garza, is the guest visiting with Gerry. He’s in the middle of a speaking blitz to middle and high school students, as well as detention center inmates in Gerry’s home area of Ohio. Rich is just one of the pros from Sports World, a ministry that gets into school systems, where the Sports World Pro’s share their testimonies with those who attend. Rich talks about the fact that his life-long dream of becoming a pro football player, having been accomplished, revealed that it could not satisfy the God-shaped hole we all have and try to fill with something else. In his case, it included drugs and alcohol until he finally gave his life to Jesus Christ.

On this The Trail To Adventure! Gerry’s guest is the founder of Christian Bowhunters of America, David Roose. The two are together near the home office of God’s Great Outdoors in Ohio, talking about how archery and one's love of bow hunting can be used to exalt Jesus Christ as Creator, Lord, and Savior. Dave was a tent making pastor and while working on a construction job, near his Cadillac, Michigan home, God began to give him ideas about the CBA ministry. The fact is, over the course of that day in the early 1980’s, the Lord laid out the concept for the ministry as Dave jotted down the ideas that came to him as he worked. And the ministry came to be, just as God shared for this evangelistic ministry.

This week’s interview is with Pastor Dan Williams from Manitoba, Canada as he visits with Gerry at Rushing Wind Retreat Center in Ontario, Canada. A remote location to the point, those who attend are brought in by float plane. A fishing trip many folks dream of, and so opens the door for bringing along unsaved friends and relatives who need Jesus. Dan tells the story of his desire to catch a big lake trout and despite the bad weather conditions decided to go way up the lake and try for one. On heading back, the storm had really blown in and the wind wouldn’t allow the boat through a narrow, shallow area. Dan tried gunning the motor and broke the shear pin, which was only the beginning of the adventure!
