On this week's program a summer day after a terrific thunderstorm in the middle of the night, the radio station KBHW in International Falls, Minnesota discovered they had transmission problems. The station manager, Bruce Christopherson relates how what appeared to be a phenomenal tragedy when it was discovered that their tower had been blown down, with time and faith turned out to be an incredible blessing for the staff and the station. Bruce also shares about the memorable times hunting with his dad, pursuing water fowl and fishing through the years and how he cherishes the memories.

Willie shares about the family’s history and how his dad, Phil, was converted from one bad dude to a man who loves the Creator God, Jesus Christ. This week’s program is an interview with Ken and Judy Gingrich about Ken’s new book “The Ultimate Choice”. Gerry met Ken and Judy at the annual 9-day outdoor show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where Gerry was given a tract about Ken, his life and coming to Christ, called “The Ultimate Choice”. The story talks about a young man who rebelled against his conservative Christian upbringing and eventually became involved with motorcycle groups, like Hell’s Angels and The Sons of Satan. At a point when things were going terribly bad in their marriage, in young life, Judy told Ken he had to decide between their family and his friends.

This week program is a time to visit with Craig and Louise Johnson and look back on how this couple made a pact when they got married to never talk about Jesus Christ. Because of outdoor ministry, however, Craig was exposed to a number of Christians and eventually had Gerry’s book Hunting Blunders and The One That Got Away! dropped into his lap, so to speak. Coming to receive Christ created quite a tense situation in their home, but with time not only did Louise come to Christ, but a number of others as well and Craig today is in full-time ministry sharing the Gospel in many formats.

This program is a visit to Dale Karch at Three Rivers Archery who is the co-owner along with his wife. Gerry visits Dale on location in Indiana and the two talk about how this business became this couple’s ownership and how it’s become a family business. Dale reflects on the family’s time involved with traditional archery from the beginning and how many of the projects such as bow building and flint arrowhead making was done there at home, helping to build a bond that will last for eternity. The two give an assortment of ideas that the listeners can do with their family to see the same results that The Karches have experienced in their lifetime to date.

This program is a visit with the founder of The Christian Deer Hunters Association, Dr. Tom Rakow. Tom shares how he got started writing books because of the deer hunting devotionals, his first project for a college literature class writing requirement, and today despite the fact that he flunked English several times in school, with his family’s help he has written a number of books that are helping Christians reach out to their unsaved friends and relatives with books on fishing and hunting.
