The letter to Smyrna is telling us what real religion must do—provide an answer to suffering and death. Jesus tells them not to be frightened of the difficult things coming their way. Today people are frightened about what is going to happen in our society, so this letter is relevant for us.

Beware of the toothpaste-tube fallacy—going from a small thing (what's the right way to roll up the tube) to a massive thing (he doesn't love me anymore). Issues can build up over time in marriage and sometimes something small feels like the last straw. Take a step back and breathe!
