Is persecution the only thing that will grow the church around the world? The church is facing more and more persecution, especially in Asia and the Middle East. Hebrews tells us to remember those who are in bonds, and it is an important part of any Christian's life to visit and pray for the persecuted church. In this edition of the Generations radio program, Kevin Swanson talks about ministering to our brothers and sisters in chains.

It should go without saying that the great need for our families and our churches is prayer. The precursor to revival is prayer (whether in family or church). What’s not so amazing about grace? We analyze the theology of doubt, the powerlessness of grace, and the smallness of God in the modern evangelical mind. We analyze the best selling book on grace of the last twenty years on this segment of the program - “What’s So Amazing About Grace.” What happens when God is not sovereign, grace is weak, and uncertainty rules? This is one of the best pictures of the weakening of faith in this generation.

Powerful systems, powerful pastors and popes tend to increase the occurrence of spiritual abuse. But, what is this abuse? Kevin Swanson defines humanist terms in biblical language, and proceeds to list the ways that pastors give way to sin. . . some personal confessions included. But, in the end - the rule of eldership within churches and between churches is God’s system of accountability. Every pastor should seek it out in humility, despite its obvious inefficiencies.

Parents in Santa Barbara, California are up in arms over a curriculum that they say is “anti-white, anti-male, and anti-Christian.” Why do the educational systems now want to stir up even more class warfare and dissension between cultures? The curriculum philosophy is finally admitting that there is a bias working, and that education is not neutral. Finally! Now, if Christians would only realize this and present a more biased curriculum.

The mad rush to infanticide by the pro-abortion states, seems to indicate that the wicked are getting worse and worse per 1 Timothy 3. But, there is also a polarization going on between states. Some states are becoming more pro-life, while others are becoming more pro-abortion. Is America heading towards civil war or break up? We address the question of when to move from a state to a better state, where the wicked are not so dominant in politics.

This program reviews some of the history of recent box office favorites like X-men and Deadpool. Should Christians be watching these movies? And what about Gospel albums that include profanity and blasphemies? Cultural offerings like this force us to discern between good and evil according to the mind of God, and the law of God as revealed in Scripture. Are Christians considering these things? Where is the line of demarcation between the world and Christ?

The public schools have more woes than we can count on this edition of the program. Muslim male students don’t have to shake hands with female teachers any more in Swiss public schools. Also, a 4-year-old was kicked out of a Colorado preschool for refusing to participate in pro-homosexual ideologies. Meanwhile, San Francisco junior high schools are allowing kids to opt out of a full week of homosexuality indoctrination. But, will they allow Christians to preach the Gospel in the public schools? That’s what we want to know. We also offer a solution to the knotty problem of multiculturalism that cannot be solved by sheer government will power. . . eliminate the public schools altogether.

Guest host Adam McManus interviews U.S. Army Lt. Col. Kevin Bouren, an avid listener of Generations Radio, who organized a Manhood Celebration for his 13-year-old son Brady last December. Based upon 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 which says, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." Kevin invited 21 Christian men to come in from 9 states to share their Biblical counsel, write a letter, and give a symbolic gift about manhood which Brady will treasure for years to come. Kevin’s thinking about how to raise a boy into a God-honoring Christian man, qualified to be an elder according to 1 Timothy and Titus, was profoundly influenced by three key books. 1. A Father’s Reward: Raising Your Children to Walk in the Truth by Phil Downer. 2. Raising a Modern-Day Knight: A Father’s Role in Guiding His Son to Authentic Manhood by Robert Lewis. 3. Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Manhood by Dennis Rainey. In fact, Kevin strongly recommends the 10-week Stepping Up Video series which he hosted for fathers and their young sons. One author wrote, "Today’s boys rarely, if ever, learn from the adults closest to them what it means to become a man – or learn when they become one. Instead they are left to search for answers in movies, song lyrics, the often ill-informed perspectives of their peers, and the mixed, even contradictory, messages from other ‘grown-ups’ around them. I believe this leaves many boys confused, hurting, and feeling terribly incomplete." In many cultures, there is a rite of passage for young men from the Masai Tribe in Kenya Africa at 15 to the Lakota Indians at 12 to the Jews who celebrate with their bar mitzvah at 13. But what do Christians do? The Manhood Celebration concluded with the knighting ceremony as Brady recited what a R.E.A.L. man is, as captured by Robert Lewis. A real man Rejects passivity, Expects a greater reward, Accepts responsibility and Leads courageously. Kevin blessed Brady, saying, "Brady, you are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." Then, he asked him 2 questions. "Brady, will you commit, from this day forward, that you will, with the Spirit’s help, love God and love others?" His son said, "I do." "Brady, will you commit, from this day forward, that you will, with the Spirit’s help, reject passivity, expect God’s greater reward, accept responsibility and lead courageously?" His son said, "I do." Kevin said, "By the authority God has vested in me as your father, it is my honor to dub you this day." (placing sword on left shoulder) "The boy in you has died." (placing sword on right shoulder) "The young man in you now lives." (holding sword in front of Brady) "Arise a Squire of the 21st century, a young man of God." Kevin then presented the sword to his son.
