The younger generation in America today is quite a bit poorer than the young generation was in 1989 . . . by 70%! The fact is that the character of the nation has fallen off the cliff and is careening downwards fast. Put away your red MAGA hat. Forget the wall. America needs to rebuild her foundations. We provide several basic foundational lessons for rebuilding the foundations of character in family and nation. It begins with the Gospel for every generation, because every generation has a problem.

It should go without saying that the church in America is in bad need of reviving. The spiritual needs run deep. Evangelicalism is in crisis. Now pastors in America are rising up and calling for reform, and praying for reviving. Now, as the nation faces what appears to be more division and turmoil (and what appears to be a serious decline in Christian worldview thinking among evangelical and others), we ask a question of leading pastors in America. "What is the greatest need for the evangelical church in America, and how would you pray for revival or reformation?"

Pastors in America still have an opt-out for the social security program. Social security is not an annuity. It is not insurance. But, is social security a welfare program? We give pastors reasons to exempt from social security, and some guidelines that might be helpful if pastors are considering it.

Something is wrong with American children. Some 32 million children have chronic illnesses, and a ground breaking new study of 600+ homeschooled children finds multiple links to immunizations. Kevin Swanson reminds us that we live in a fallen world, and we need to moderate faith in modern medicine.

The Urbana 2018 Student Conference is concerned about a “tainted Gospel” where Christians commit sins like patriarchy and environmental racism, and they play monopoly to boot (which is not Jesus). Instead of disciple-ing the nations, what are these college ministries doing? They confuse the issues, they refuse to define sin by the commandments of God (which is what Jesus told us to teach the nations). Should your children play monopoly? Or, should we support these college ministries, or go for family discipleship and local church-based discipleship?

Why do Presidents Obama, Clinton, and Carter confess Christ, but so far there hasn’t been a public confession from President Trump? Only President Donald Trump neglected to recite the Apostle’s Creed at President George H.W. Bush’s funeral. We go over the public testimonials of faith in Christ from the presidents. Then we study the basic faith of the Apostle’s Creed, and how the idea of “sin” and “judgment” and “creation” are rejected by modern liberals.

The box office has turned almost 100% fantasy, as all five of the 2018 box office blockbusters were fantasy/sci fi/super hero films. Modern man has walked over the line of despair and he has almost completely rejected any contact with reality. It is the last few breaths of a dying empire. Can you hear the wheezing? But, the good news is that Christian film is on the comeback. Between 2013 and 2016, the box office receipts on the new genre has grown fifty fold. We talk to Director Dan Nuckols and Film Writer Douglas Bond on the development of a film from a biblical worldview perspective.

Purity rings, purity vows, purity ceremonies, and dances were popular for a few decades among Christian groups. But, problems developed when the little boys didn’t grow up and girls couldn’t get married. Immaturity dominated, on-line porn took the boys down; and combining vows of celibacy with a delay of marriage (and a reputation of young marriages) was a killer for evangelicals. Why aren’t our young men getting married? Why aren’t our girls getting married? The just will live by faith, and they will marry by faith. The breakdown of faith involves the breakdown of family. We give some practical advice for young people on getting married in this short segment.

The Christian colleges, evangelical denominations, and seriously mixed-up Christian leaders ball up social justice, feminism, me-too, and race conflicts into one big confusing package. And now, Calvinists and reformed people are accused of accommodating domestic violence and opposing social justice, because they think objectively about stuff. However, these pet issues as presented usually lack clarity and definition. Those who embrace these movements and buzzwords are all wrapped up in irrational, emotion-driven commitments to who knows what, and as well they refuse to submit to God’s laws as defining right and wrong. Confusion reigns, and Satan is in the middle of it all. These are serious matters because they are threatening to split whole denominations wide open. We do our best to clarify the issues by the Word of God in this edition of the program.
