Racism, Feminism, Social Justice - Issues Splitting Southern Baptists, PCA, etc.

December 28, 2018

The Christian colleges, evangelical denominations, and seriously mixed-up Christian leaders ball up social justice, feminism, me-too, and race conflicts into one big confusing package. And now, Calvinists and reformed people are accused of accommodating domestic violence and opposing social justice, because they think objectively about stuff. However, these pet issues as presented usually lack clarity and definition. Those who embrace these movements and buzzwords are all wrapped up in irrational, emotion-driven commitments to who knows what, and as well they refuse to submit to God’s laws as defining right and wrong. Confusion reigns, and Satan is in the middle of it all. These are serious matters because they are threatening to split whole denominations wide open. We do our best to clarify the issues by the Word of God in this edition of the program.

The only good news going on in western civilization seems to be happening in America — the evangelical birth rate is finally on the rise. All other birth rates around the developed world are imploding. Japan will probably lose about 2/3 of its people, and not be a nation by 2100. Korea isn’t doing any better. But, the birth rate is not the only indication of life in a church. Life comes when we abandon the existentialist self-oriented worldview, and taking on the life of Christ, losing your life for His sake.

Here is the story of reversal — a reversal of a vasectomy, but more than that. The Christian life brings reversals and repentance as the mind is renewed according to the will of God. Here is the story of tragedy and triumph. It is the story of life-changing reversals followed by the blessing of God. It is the story of the Christian life.

America is turning increasingly materialistic, and this seems to be increasing debt and consumeristic spending. How to avoid all of this materialist trap? Giving, gratitude, and stop stealing. This is the best approach to preparing for the next great recession.

A priest is in trouble for suggesting that a teen who committed suicide might not go to heaven. Is suicide the unforgivable sin? The life expectancy in America has fallen off for the first time in 100 years — because Americans are killing themselves. Suicide and drug overdoses are bringing the American life expectancy down fast. We discuss the biggest causes for the increase in suicide and despair, and the biggest remedy — believe the Gospel. Believe that Christ came to bring the greatest hope in the universe.

The dangers of hierarchy and centralization of power in the church seems to produce corruption, lack of accountability, demagoguery, abuse, and all the rest. The Protestant Church and the Roman Catholic Church are in all out crisis mode now. The image of the Roman Catholic Church is befouled and apparently unsalvageable now. What can be done? A return to decentralized elderships and a rejection of the single pastor man-of-God motif is where the true church is headed. It sounds a lot like Titus 1:5, 1 Peter 5:1, Phil. 1:1, and 1 Timothy 4:14 — ordination by the laying on of the hands of a “presbytery.”

The National Association of Evangelicals which includes the EV Free Church, the Presbyterian Church of America, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Vineyard, and others have endorsed a plan to include homosexuals under federal nondiscrimination laws. This move sets real Christians up for persecution, while protecting fake Christians from persecution. The motions passed by the National Association of Evangelicals and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities were based on the Utah Compromise. The Mormons capitulated first, and then the evangelicals followed them on this one. Is it the responsibility of the civil magistrate to provide for the “needs” of homosexuals who want a wedding? That seems to be the hinge argument of the evangelicals who are pushing for “homosexual rights.” We contrast this with the biblical ethical standard for the civil magistrate and the treatment of homosexuality.

It was the 1920s in Germany. Homosexuality was on the rise. Immorality and decadence defined Berlin. The church was reduced to liberalism and pietism. The country was torn by economic stress. The time was right for Adolf Hitler, the great 'savior' of the people. Does any of this sound familiar? Kevin Swanson interviews Erwin Lutzer, author of a new book entitled 'When a Nation Forgets God.' There are some differences between Nazi Germany in 1932 and America in 2012. There are still a few churches here that preach the full-orbed implications of God's Word to culture and politics. And there are parents who still are willing to fight for their God-given responsibilities to oversee their children's education!

There is a danger lurking when American Pentecostals or Baptists or anybody denies God’s sovereignty. Although people may call themselves Christians, what happens when it turns out they are worshiping the wrong god? When Benny Hinn’s nephew and assistant learns about the sovereignty of God, everything changes.

Certain songs have been outrageously popular because they have broken through social mores and sexual barriers — and “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is in that category. Is this woman more concerned about what her neighbors would think or what God would think, if she spends the night with this guy? Are the Me Too people more concerned about a sin against God, or a sin against somebody else? We also take a look at a few other radical trend setting songs like “Let It Go” from Frozen and Kris Kristoferssen’s “Help Me Make It though the Night.&rdquo Here are some questions Christians need to ask about the music they listen to? The most important question to ask, of course, is. . .Does this music give us a sense of the fear of God?

Every pastor in America should hear this program! They came for the Mennonites, and I did not speak out.  They came for a Fundamentalist Baptist who read from Proverbs 13:24, and I did not speak out. . .  Although very few Christian ministries or news programs would cover this, there are real instances where Christians are going to prison in America.  A pastor teaches from Proverbs 13:24, and gets two years in prison — and the case is refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.  Mennonite Pastors in Vermont are serving time for their opposition to homosexuality, and aid given to a woman repenting of the sin.  Will anybody speak out?  Is your pastor next? True stories of real persecution going on right now in the United States on this edition of the program.    You can encourage a Christian in prison in the United States at this address:  Philip Zodhiates 18649-084FCI AshlandFederal Correctional InstitutionP.O.
