Encouraged, Part 5a

May 7, 2012
There’s a healthy sense of pride that comes from a job well done. It feels good to breathe a sigh of relief after a productive day of hard work. Someday we’ll look back on our life and consider the work we’ve done for our Heavenly Father. Hopefully, it will be with thanksgiving for what the Lord has done in and through us! Today on Focal Point we’re learning from Paul’s example. Mike Fabarez' message is titled, "The Encouragement of Extending God’s Kingdom."

A true friend will let us know when we have lettuce in our teeth, or the price tag on our new jacket. It’s comforting to know these friends have our back, so to speak. When it comes to our relationship with God we can count on other followers of Jesus to help us out along the way. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents a study called, "Learning to Encourage One Another." It’s a helpful reminder we’re not in this alone!

In any group of people, you’ll find a wide range of preferences, opinions, convictions and tastes. It would be hard to get everyone to agree on where to go for lunch, let alone the more complicated issues of life. So what does the Bible mean when it calls the church to unity? Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez continues a study in Romans 15, and explains what unity is, and what it’s not.

Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez talks about standing together as a church body. Today we’ll learn to guard against the attitudes that can weaken our congregations.

The Bible is filled with hopeful passages about God’s love and our life beyond the grave. But when you’re going through tough times, you don’t need someone to pacify you with idle promises. You need the truth…even when it’s hard to hear. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents a study in Romans about "The Encouragement of Scriptures." When we dig into God’s Word every single day, we receive the instruction and motivation we need for the Christian life.

When you’re hoping something will go your way, it’s painful when your dreams are dashed with bad news. We hope for a bigger paycheck, for children, or a spouse. But wish as we may, we have little control over the outcome of our desires. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez talks about something we can always count on…"The Encouragement of the Scriptures." When it comes to real hope for our lives, we can go straight to God’s Word.
