Maybe you can think of someone who had a significant connection with the church, even claimed to be a Christian, and then turned away from it! Our hearts ache when we see something like that happen, but was that person ever a Christian? Today on Focal Point, we encounter a sobering passage in Hebrews six which confronts the sin of apostasy. Is the “falling away” spoken of here referring to a stumbling in the Christian life, or is it more along the lines of a serious renouncing of the truth and indulgence in sin? A good number in the church have reached the wrong conclusions after studying this passage. So we’d do well to carefully look at it now with Pastor Mike Fabarez.
