Mike Fabarez: If there's one thing we human beings aren't great at, it's saying thank you and being grateful. Even as Christians, we tend to think that gratitude is an extra credit virtue. The Bible tells us differently, though, of course.
Jesus says that gratitude is a minimum response to God's gracious gifts to our lives. Psalm 147 says that it's fitting and appropriate for God's people to praise Him. Of all people, Christians should recognize the gracious hand of God upon us.
We should regularly respond with heartfelt thanksgiving, not just on special days and special occasions, but every day and in every circumstance. May God enable us to be sincere worshippers and grateful believers expressing our thanks to our gracious and generous redeemer.
