Blessings and Faith

Mike Fabarez: God's blessings are great, obviously. God loves giving them too, and certainly we enjoy receiving them. But the Bible cautions us not to put our complete focus on the blessings themselves. God gives us a lot of good things: healthy relationships, riches, good health, whatever it might be.
But our confidence needs to always be in the giver and not in the gift. As we enjoy our blessings today, then, let us be quick to remember God's words in Jeremiah 9:23: "Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom or the strong man boast in his strength. Don't let the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boast, boast in this: that he understands and knows the Lord, that he is a God who exercises kindness."
