Deliverance and Gratitude

Mike Fabarez: You know it's easy to assume that if we trust in Christ, then life should be smooth sailing from here on out. But there are a variety of reasons God may choose to lead us through the valley of the shadow of death. The good news for God's children is that he doesn't leave us there. And when he rescues us from our trouble, whether temporal or eternal, we should joyfully broadcast his deliverance to everyone that will listen.
In Psalm 107, the sufferers call out to the Lord. They experience relief and they rejoice in God's mercy toward them. Each act of redemption, large or small, it was to be celebrated. So when the Lord grants us relief, as Psalm 107:2 says, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so."
