The Difference Between Intelligence and Wisdom
Start your week of with this 1 minute devotional from Pastor Mike Fabarez of Focal Point Radio Ministries.
Guest (Male): It’s time to power up your day with a one-minute Focal Point from Pastor Mike Fabarez.
Mike Fabarez: There’s a big difference between intelligence and wisdom. Plenty of intelligent people are utterly lacking in wisdom, and a lot of wise men and women didn't fare well on the SATs.
Wisdom could be described in the Bible as the skill of living life as God intended. It’s not just the ability to think well, but rather to thoughtfully act in a way that is good and godly.
It’s admirable to study and increase our intelligence, but growing in wisdom should always take priority. In Proverbs 4:7, Solomon exhorted us to get wisdom, even if it costs you everything you have, because wisdom is supreme. It begins with a right perspective of God, and it’s increased by time in His Word. So let’s keep seeking wisdom all the more, because God loves to grant it.
