Mike Fabarez: One of the challenges of the Christian life is to stay focused on what really matters. As the demands of life clamor for our immediate attention, it's the issues of eternal significance that usually get ignored and sent to the back of our minds. But ask any good manager and they'll tell you there's a big distinction between what's urgent and what's truly important.
Jesus certainly understood the difference. There were many onlookers whose expectations and demands were never met by Christ. But at the end of his life, Jesus could confidently say in John 17 that he had brought glory on earth to the Father by completing the work that he gave him to do.
May we strategically live our lives with our eyes fixed on the divine priorities, so that one day we'll be able to say at the end of our lives that we've fulfilled God's calling for us.
