Open the Door of Mercy

Mike Fabarez: I remember once reading an old-time preacher speaking of Jesus as God's open door of mercy. It's a great way to put it, particularly in a day when we hear Jesus presented like an infomercial for life improvement. But in reality, his mercy is opening a door for us to escape the clutches of death.
Revelation 18 says we should come out from the rest of the world and be his people, lest we take part in her sins and share in her plagues. Thankfully, that merciful door of escape is still open for us. It's a door, though, that won't stay open forever.
We should view each day as perhaps the last chance we have to tell someone about that grace, that love that we have in Christ. So let's be thankful and motivated that today, at least for today, God's door of mercy remains wide open.
