Jealousy of God

Mike Fabarez: Jealousy is usually perceived as a negative. Few of us want to be described as the jealous type. Perhaps that's why we may overlook the fact that God is jealous. He's jealous for us.
Exodus 34:14 says God, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. While our human jealousy is often unfounded, God's never is. As our Maker and Redeemer, we are doubly His. He deserves our full attention, our deepest love, and our fiercest loyalty.
No wonder God becomes jealous when He sees those He loves flirting with the seductive distractions of the world. May we strive to keep ourselves from idols and keep our devotion where it belongs on the great and loving Lord.
