Mike Fabarez: Most Christians know they need to pray more, and certainly we all should. But as we increase our time in prayer, let's remember that Christ told us in Matthew 18 that we have to always pray and not lose heart. Jesus explains this in a parable of the tenacious widow. We're not just trying to log in more hours in prayer; instead, we're trying to persist in our prayer life, to bring those specific requests to God repeatedly and persistently that we know are good and right.
It's unfortunate how quickly we abandon prayer when God doesn't immediately respond. But God says ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, knock and keep on knocking. If a request is right and biblically good, then we ought to pray. We ought to always pray and not lose heart.
