Mike Fabarez: I hear a lot of Christians talk about building bridges with non-Christians. And I'm all for it. But the problem is, when the bridge is built, often I find nothing really significant crosses over. Many of the bridge builders fail to talk about the reality of the Gospel, eternal consequences of sin, the call to repentance, and the exclusivity of Christ. Often they avoid those things because they don't want to offend their new non-Christian friends. They'd rather just prove they're good guys.
Before you say that Jesus just wanted to build these kinds of bridges, just wanting people to know God loves them, you better reread the words of Christ in those contexts. All of them. I'm all for building bridges, but let's be sure to deliver the entirety and the accuracy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
