Mike Fabarez: After the apostle Paul explains the amazing transaction of the gospel in the book of Romans, he gets to this statement: "Present your bodies as a living sacrifice." How bizarre that must have sounded in the ears of those who had grown up watching animal sacrifices. To read a passage now that says I’m supposed to be the sacrifice—that’s hard to comprehend.
This complete surrender to God as a living sacrifice as a response to the grace that we’ve received in the gospel is what it means to really ponder and respond to the redemption that we have in Christ. That whole-life perspective.
I pray, in light of all that Christ has done for us to save us, that we would truly embrace this whole-life perspective. All of our lives are now for Christ.
