Mike Fabarez: When the Apostle Paul shared the gospel in Athens, he had to start by taking time to explain the principles from the Old Testament. He realized that his Greek audience there did not have the same theological foundation as those that were educated in the Jewish tradition of the Old Testament.

That's an important distinction that we can observe in that passage and then apply in the 21st century, knowing that our neighbors and coworkers are much more similar to the Athenians than they are to those Jewish Sabbath school graduates. In your next evangelistic discussion, please remember to set the stage and carefully explain the nature and the authority of the God of the Old Testament before you start to present the grace and the gospel found in the New Testament.
