Focal Point Weekly Devotional
Start your week of with this 1 minute devotional from Pastor Mike Fabarez of Focal Point Radio Ministries.
Guest (Male): Here’s Mike Fabarez, Bible teacher on Focal Point.
Mike Fabarez: We certainly live in a culture of excuses. We blame, we avoid responsibility—that's the norm. Yet excuse-making, we’ve got to realize, is nothing new. It started back in Genesis chapter three. Adam and Eve made excuses right there in the wake of their first transgressions. It was a problem for them, and it’s a problem for us. The real problem is it doesn't work with God. Romans tells us that our acts of rebellion are all without excuse.
Surprisingly, that can be super helpful for us just to realize it. We are to accept the responsibility and just be honest. Few things please God more than that: people who humbly accept responsibility for their actions. So, next time you fail, next time you stumble, next time you sin, let us respond with sincere contrition instead of excuses.
