Mike Fabarez: It is almost impossible to get through a week without hearing one Christian disparage another. It is sad, but it is often the reality. Sometimes we just stand by, feeling uncomfortable, and we allow our friend to vent. The Bible says when this is going on, whether we are engaged in it or other people are and we are standing by, we are tearing down the people that God has made and that he has redeemed. We have to take this more seriously.
Shut down any disparagement. When Christians are disparaging one another and you hear it, you need to encourage face-to-face resolutions whenever you can. This is a community obligation that will have a sanctifying effect on our relationships, and it may change what we say as well.
