Being Thankful

October 5, 2026
00:00

Start your day off with this 1 minute devotional from Pastor Mike Fabarez of Focal Point Radio Ministries.

Guest (Male): It's time to power up your day with a one-minute focal point from Pastor Mike Fabarez.

Mike Fabarez: If you strip away all the instruments, all the music, and all the lyrics on the screen, you'll realize that worship at its core is basically showing a depth of gratitude from our heart to God. We see this repeated again and again in the Psalms, where the writers command their souls to praise God and forget none of His benefits.

It may sound cliché to remind yourself to count your blessings and name them one by one, but doing so is really at the very heart of worship. Unlike the anonymous Thanksgiving of our world, we need to address our thanksgiving directly to our Creator.

We should be active in directing our expressions of thanks to the Giver of all good things. When we do, God is honored, we're refreshed, and the church will resound with worshipful hearts.

Guest (Male): Right thinking leads to right living. Want more? Power up with Pastor Mike Fabarez on Focal Point, a half hour of hard-hitting Bible teaching here on your station, or check it out online at focalpointradio.org.
