A mother wears a lot of hats. She’s the family grocer, cook, housekeeper, nurse, teacher, and so on.  She is also the family spiritual director and interceder for her family. Mother and author Rachel Jankovic tells how she finds snatches of time during the daily rush of life to offer up prayers for her children.  She reminds moms that it’s okay to pray while cooking or rocking or other chores, and reminds them not to feel guilty if they can’t find time for the perfect devotional time or Bible reading.

Mothering can get wearisome. But the pro’s far outweigh the cons. Mother of six Rachel Jankovic waxes on the gift of motherhood and reminds moms that motherhood is not an opportunity for a pity party, but a means to see God work in the daily ups and downs of life. Rachel encourages moms to lean hard on the Lord to provide the strength and wisdom they’ll need to rise to the challenges presented to them.

So, you wanted to be a Mommy. Now that you’re there, is it all you expected? Author Rachel Jankovic, a mother of six, reminds listeners that motherhood is largely sacrificial, a daily laying down of your life that mysteriously fills you the more you give out. Rachel talks about her own leap into motherhood early in her marriage and the challenges and blessings motherhood ushers in.  Rachel encourages moms who are trying to figure out who they are just to look at “their people” – the husband and children looking back at her that give her purpose and meaning.

Do you and your spouse have different romantic needs? Consider then, that your spouse’s differences, as odd as they may seem, may be God’s gift to you. Dennis and Barbara Rainey talk about the differences between men and women in the romance department. While women spell romance r-e-l-a-t-i-o-n-s-h-i-p, men most often spell it s-e-x.  The Rainey’s encourage husbands and wives to enroll in a lifelong “Romantic Language School,” and become more fluent in their spouse’s unique language of love.

School is valuable, but it has its limits, especially when it comes to learning about marriage. It’s only until you enroll in the lifetime school of love, called marriage, that certain facts make sense. Dennis and Barbara Rainey, lifetime students of one another, share more lessons they’ve learned from their four decades of marriage, including the one that holds all the others together:  Love is a commitment.
October 14, 2013
The first year of marriage can be a tough one as couples learn to adjust to one another’s differences.  Dennis and Barbara Rainey talk about that memorable “rookie” year each couple must face, and hopefully won’t repeat. Together they look back fondly at their own rookie season and recall how they misunderstood each other and what they would do now if they could do it over.
October 11, 2013
Dennis and Barbara Rainey draw from the classroom of life to teach us some lessons on marriage you won’t learn in school.  Two lessons they’ve learned during their 41 years of marriage that they’ll talk about are:  Marriage isn’t about your happiness, and God is at work in your marriage, finishing something He has begun in you.
