What would you say if I told you today, instead of giving you a to-do list of how to be a better mom, I’m giving you a “to-don’t list?" Learning what not to do from this mom of the Bible. Show Notes: Remember, don’t play favorites and don’t try to control your children. When you struggle, ask yourself these 2 questions: Is this what is best for me or best for my child? Is this what I want or what God wants? The Challenge: Ask the Lord to give you wisdom in your parenting! “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” -James 1:5 Go to faithful31moms.com for the Scripture Writing Plan I mentioned or to https://www.lwf.org/scripture-writing-plans/know-and-live-the-truth

Eve, the first mother of all, was by no means perfect. Proving that if God can redeem her sin and still use it for good, then He can do the same with us. Even when you make bad choices, God still has a plan and purpose for your life! There are currently around 3.9 billion females living on planet Earth—With that in mind, it’s hard to imagine if that number was a just ONE! What would it be like to be the first woman and mother to ever live on this Earth? Well, she definitely wasn’t perfect but she was given a great promise….let’s find out all about her today… Show Notes: 2 Things to Learn from Eve: First: Remember, even though Eve was far from perfect, God still used her… If He can take Eve’s mistakes and redeem them with a promise, then He can FOR SURE take my mistakes and your mistakes…and use what Satan means for evil and turn them for good to ultimately bring Him all the glory! 1 Corinthians 2:9 promises that “no eye has see, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” No, we never knew life in a perfect garden like Eve, but we do have the promise of a perfect heaven to hold to! Remember: There is more to life than this world has to offer and even when you make a bad choice and sin, God still has a plan and purpose for your life and for my life! Second: This is a promise that you don’t need to keep to yourself! Adam and Eve is such a relatable story to share with your kids about choices and consequences that come from sin. It’s always my go story when I have to discipline my boys—I tell them how we always have a choice. And sometimes if we choose a bad choice (sin) then there are consequences, just like there were for Adam and Eve. But even when we mess up, God still loves them and so do I—and God always has a plan and purpose for our lives! This is HUGE for your kids to realize, So find a way to share this promise with them this week… Please be sure to go follow @Faithful31Moms on Instagram for updates on new episodes of other moms from the Bible podcasts coming up… And if this podcast has encouraged you, I want to ask you a favor: please subscribe or leave me a review and then share this episode with a friend!

3 things that will help get your New Year off to a great start by spending consistent time with Jesus. When you lay your head down at night, dirty dishes, unfinished checklists and all…you can still rest knowing your day was accomplished with purpose. A consistent time and Bible reading plan or devotional is key—so here are three ways to start: Set a time that works for you to spend time alone with the Lord—preferably morning before your family is up—But if that isn’t doable because you work night shift or working a home night shift with a newborn—then find a time that works for you and stick to it. Then I will also include in the show notes several mom-friendly devotionals* or scripture writing plans that I have found work for me. I realize most of us don’t have time to do a long in depth study everyday—I know I don’t…I have the benefit of studying the Bible for work…but even that cannot be substituted for my alone time with the Lord. I have learned that the hard way. Then find a way to share or encourage someone else with what the Lord teaches you each day. Share it with your kids, with your husband, with a friend or even with the clerk at the grocery store… These 3 things will help get your New Year off to the right start to spending consistent time with Jesus and when lay your head down at night, dirty dishes, unfinished checklists and all…you can still rest knowing your day was accomplished with purpose. * List of Devotional Ideas: “Awaken” by Priscilla Shriller. A daily short read, packed with scripture and an easy to follow break down of how to apply it to your life, including space to journal in the book each day. https://www.amazon.com/Awaken-Days-God-who-Speaks/ The Daily Grace Co. is an online store that has lots of good devotional options that are wonderful and affordable! Some of my favorites are: “Daughters of Grace” and “Even So.” https://thedailygraceco.com A simple place to start is the “100 Days of Bible Promises” devotional journal by Shanna Noel. It’s just a topical thought, some Scripture and a place to sketch or journal prayers. https://www.amazon.com/100-Days-Bible-Promises-Devotional/ Find Scripture Writing Plans on our website faithful31moms.com or from our Love Worth Finding Partner https://www.lwf.org/scripture-writing-plans.
