The Peace of Christmas part 2

December 30, 2020

How many of them lasted long enough for the ink to dry? Not many. Peace will be the topic here today as we wrap up pastor Al Pittman’s Christmas series. One of the reasons Jesus was born was to make peace between a perfect God, and sinful man. Our sin is what separated us from God in the first place, and by sending His son to earth to die for our sins, God signed a peace treaty with us, using the blood of His only son.

We are currently presenting a series of messages from pastor Al centered around the birth of Christ, and what that miraculous event means to us today. So far, we have learned about God’s hope, God’s love, God’s joy, and today, pastor Al will share with us that Jesus is our source of peace. Peace is a reclusive thing. Mankind tries often to manufacture peace in this world, but it almost always doesn’t last. Lasting peace? It’s found in only one place.

Pastor Al Pittman is the teacher here on the program, and he’s currently sharing a series of messages for the Christmas season. why did Jesus come to the earth? We are all familiar with the facts - the manger, the wise men, but why did He come? The wonderful answer is forthcoming, as we open our bibles to Luke chapter two. It’s all about joy everlasting.

Today we’ll begin a look at joy. Joy is an elusive commodity for many people. Why is that? Well, pastor Al is going to remind us today that people are seeking joy in the wrong places. That results in temporary happiness, and ultimate disappointment. Joy everlasting is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, who came to the earth two thousand years ago, in a little trough in Bethlehem.

Today on The Dwelling Place, pastor Al Pittman continues his Christmas series by taking another look at the greatest act of love ever displayed. God sent His one and only precious son to earth, to be born in a manger… and to ultimately die on a cross for our sins. If you’re looking for a definition of love, that’s the best one you can find!

This is a time of year when a lot of people feel unloved and forgotten. Pastor Al will bring us a message from his Christmas series today called “The Love of Christmas”. There is no love like the love God has for us. He sacrificed His only son so that we might be saved from our sin.

Pastor Al began our Christmas series yesterday, with part one of a message titled “The Hope of Christmas”. Are you feeling hopeless today? This is a time of year when a lot of people feel hopeless. Loneliness especially can bring about feelings of hopelessness. But if you are a child of God - a born again believer in Jesus Christ, you are never alone and you have eternal hope in Jesus!

Al has divided this series into four aspects of Christ’s presence in our lives - Hope, Love, Joy and Peace. Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? We’ll start today with Hope, and how Joseph responded to the news he received that his soon-to-be wife, Mary, was carrying the son of God.

We’re about halfway through the tumultuous happenings found in chapter eighteen. The antichrist and the false prophet and those who have chosen to follow them have had their day in the sun, so to speak, and now it’s time to bring this terrible chapter in human history to a close.
December 18, 2020
In Revelation eighteen, the anti-christ has had his way with mankind and now it’s time for him to get his just rewards. There will be many, many people who will suffer terrible consequences in the verses we’ll study. They’ll suffer because they bought into Satan’s lies.
December 17, 2020
There are only two real religions in this world - the kind made by man, and the kind made by God - Christianity. As we study Revelation seventeen today, keep that in mind, because as we see the judgment of Mystery Babylon, we see the results of mankind's decision to follow and worship the antichrist instead of Jesus Christ.
