Psalm 18 part 1

In Psalm eighteen, the Psalmist recounts God’s great faithfulness. It’s something we come to expect from God but often our circumstances speak otherwise. When you get in a tight spot, do you always remember that God is with you? We need constant reminders, don't we?

In Psalm seventeen, David expressed a great desire to not transgress with the tongue. There are many references in God's word to the power of the tongue to do good and to do evil. James liked it to a fire!

Some in the church today struggle in loving one another. Psalm sixteen has the remedy, and it’s where we’ll be today on The Dwelling Place So what’s the remedy for loveless saints? Can there be such a thing? The Psalmist would say those who delight in God would delight in His people too.

These wonderful words offer a summary of the reason to trust in the Lord in the face of a crumbling society. We have the benefit of gaining from David’s lifetime of learning. He faced severe difficulties in his early years - running for his life and hiding in caves. Yet in all this - David found that the Lord was faithful.

Today Pastor Al will take us to Psalm eight. This Psalm was written by King David with a sense of wonder and amazement. He asks why God would be interested in man when man is so small in comparison to the Rest of God’s Creation. It’s good for us to consider this as well as we remember the Grace and Mercy that God extends to us each and every day.

There are a lot of reasons why obeying God makes sense. From a practical point of view, we can say that since God invented the entire earth and everything on it, it figures He knows the best way to operate everything on it! There are other good reasons for obeying God, including the wonderful blessings it brings. Today we again look at Psalm six.

An athlete must trust his instincts and talents in order to succeed. the same is true for you and me, in a different way. As Christians, we must trust God and God alone in order to get through the inevitable hard times that we face in life. Too often we a think we’re all alone when we face a trial in life.
