Pandemic Faith

We are currently going verse by verse through the book of Acts, and today, we’ll bring you the conclusion of a message Al began yesterday, titled “Pandemic Faith”. Now, Pastor Al isn’t going to get into the numbers or the potential cures, or the steps we need to take to keep healthy, but he will share some ways we can deal with the crisis from a spiritual point of view.

We are continuing our series in Acts today, with a timely message from pastor Al titled “Pandemic Faith” , based in Acts chapter four. Today we will continue our study through the book of Acts. with a look at chapter four. This was a time of great growth in the early Christian church, and two of the leaders of that early church, Peter and John, are just now being released from jail after being arrested for preaching the Gospel. The reaction they see when they return to their church is another example of the Holy Spirit’s presence.

In Acts chapter four, we find Peter and John before the religious authorities, accused of saying things that were quite contrary to the accepted teaching of the time. But Peter and John were defiant, they were on fire for the Lord, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Al will take us to Acts four today as we see Peter and John arrested. Arrested for what? Performing miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit. Now the folks in charge around those parts didn’t appreciate being upstaged power-wise, so they arrested them.

On today’s program we once again are in the book of Acts. As we continue in chapter three today, we’ll look at a beautiful moment at a place called “the beautiful gate”. A man who had never walked was healed. And what was his reaction? He jumped! He ran! And he praised God! What a great lesson we learn in this wonderful story.

Have you ever experienced something and later realized you’d been set up? That’s exactly what’s about to happen to Peter and John. They’re on their way to the temple to pray and they come across a lame man begging for money. What happens at The Beautiful Gate served to give the people a vivid example of the presence and the power of The Holy Spirit.

Today, we’ll wrap up a message dealing with the final verses of the second chapter of Acts. Here’s the scenario: Peter is giving a dynamite sermon about the power and the glory of Jesus Christ, and those who heard the sermon clearly amazed. I think if we put ourselves in their place, we would have a very similar reaction.
