Love Beyond Words

October 5, 2023

Last time we were together we covered a good portion of chapter twelve, and we were encouraged to be a healthy body of believers.  Right on the heels of that admonition, the apostle Paul goes on to speak about loving without hypocrisy, and abhorring what is evil.  Pastor Al will show us today just how important it is that we displayed Godly love to not only one another, but to those who persecute us as well.

We’ve been studying the Book of Romans lately and we’ll be zeroing in on chapter twelve today. In this chapter, Paul not only teaches us how to effectively live out our faith in a world that is often hostile to the Gospel message, but he also provides us with some great insight into how to interact with one another as fellow believers in the body of Christ.

Unfortunately, when the first trial comes - as they most certainly will - the new believer often finds discouragement and feelings of abandonment. On today’s Dwelling Place, we’ll see the apostle Paul working to dispel this notion in the Book of Romans.

Throughout the Bible, the people of Israel consistently rejected Jesus as the Messiah. So, in response, has God given up on the nation of Israel?   Some suggest He has. But in Romans, chapter eleven, the apostle Paul says otherwise.  We’ll see what he had to say in just a moment.  Welcome to today’s edition of The Dwelling Place.  We’re about to see how God feels about His chosen people, and I think you’ll be greatly encouraged as we place the spotlight on the grace and patience of our Lord.

Pastor Al is in the middle of a study in Romans, and the plan today is to spotlight chapter eleven.  You might recall in chapter ten, we were talking about Israel’s stubborn refusal to believe in Christ, and so a logical question on the heals of that is, “Is God through with them as a nation?”  Far from it.  The Lord has a wonderful plan to reach Israel, and chapter eleven makes that clear to us.

As believers, we can have confidence in what God has promised, because we know that God never makes a promise He won’t keep.
