You’re familiar, I’m sure, with the old expression “what goes around comes around”. That’s exactly what we’re seeing here in Revelation eighteen. The antichrist and the false prophet and those who have chosen to follow them have had their day in the sun, so to speak, and now it’s time to bring this terrible chapter in human history to a close. Jesus Christ is preparing to return to the earth to reign over it for a thousand years, but first the Godless city of Babylon must be destroyed.

We’re studying verse by verse through Revelation, and today we reach chapter eighteen. There will be many, many people who will suffer terrible consequences in the verses we’ll study. They’ll suffer because they bought into Satan’s lies. Join us in Revelation chapter eighteen, verse twelve.

There are only two real religions in this world - the kind made by man, and the kind made by God - Christianity. As we study Revelation seventeen today, keep that in mind, because as we see the judgment of Mystery Babylon, we see the results of mankind's decision to follow and worship the antichrist instead of Jesus Christ. Anytime we take our eyes off of God and put them on ourselves, we’re in trouble, and such is the case as God judges the world and destruction follows.

There’s no question that society today continues to sink to new lows when it comes to sin and the acceptance of sin. It’s another sign that we’re living in the last days, and today we’ll begin a look at Revelation chapter seventeen and the continuing judgment of man by God during the tribulation period.

In history there have been some memorable battles,  but the battle of Armageddon will out strip every one of them for destruction and bloodshed. Satan is fighting his last fight, and although he knows he must lose, he fights on. After this battle comes the final destruction of the earth.

Our journey through Revelation is nearing the point of the Grand Finale, and Pastor Al Pittman has set aside the next two broadcasts as a way to introduce it to Revelation chapter fifteen.  It is the shortest chapter in all of Revelation, but it is here that we read an introduction to the final outpouring of God’s judgment upon the earth. Now while this in an ominous chapter, Al says we must not miss the hope, joy and singing that is here too.

We live in an age of "tolerance" which on the surface seems innocent enough, but tolerance today means anything and everything is acceptable, no matter how depraved and sinful it may be. In the end times a lot of people will be duped by the antichrist and his cohort the false prophet, and today we'll begin to see the consequences of that deceit. It may not be politically correct, but it's scripturally correct, and that's what matters.

Pastor Al Pittman will move along in his verse by verse examination of Revelation to chapter fourteen. In the past several chapters of Revelation we've seen destruction and suffering at an unprecedented scale, but here in chapter fourteen, we get a glimpse of the winner of the war, the Lord Jesus Christ. Today and tomorrow we'll also revisit the topic of the one hundred forty four thousand. Who are they, where are they, and why are they here? Those are among the questions pastor Al will answer as we study Revelation chapter fourteen.
