January 24, 2023

Trials and tribulations are a part of every person’s life, no matter where you may be. How we deal with those trials is what really makes a difference. If you look around these days, you’ll see a lot of people turn to there wrong things when hardship comes their way. As Christians, we should always look to the Lord first, when we face hardship. Is that what you do?

This world is changing a lot, and we see the changes every day. But some things haven’t changed. For centuries Israel has been under attack, and has sought refuge in God’s safe arms. The Psalmist who wrote Psalm one twenty wrote some of his most eloquent words on this subject, and we’ll take a look at some of them today on The Dwelling Place with pastor Al Pittman.

If you have a bible handy, make your way over to Acts nineteen, which details the ministry of Paul in Ephesus. Let’s join pastor Al for a message titled “The Unusual Life”.

The bottom line truth we find in Psalm 119 is that the Psalmist has discovered, just as we can, that God’s word contains everything we need in the way of advice and direction for a happy, prosperous life. The world will try to sell you the latest self help book, or try to get you to go to the latest “seminar”, but none of them can hold a candle to what we find in God’s word.

he worst day with Jesus is better than the best day with anyone else. As Christians, we may not always be happy, but we will always have that true joy that is found only in Christ Jesus. In our study of Psalm 119 today, pastor Al shows us that receiving the word of God means a changed life, and a new set of priorities

The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119. Through these 176 verses we find some beautiful poetry of praise for God, and His word. Shouldn’t you and I be as excited about the Bible as the Psalmist here is? How do we get that excitement going again?

Today on the program, we’ll continue our study of one of the greatest poems of all time - Psalm 119. It’s a testament to God’s goodness and love. If you have children, especially if they’re teenagers, you know how important it is that they keep company with the right kind of friends. Peer pressure has been a problem for us humans since the beginning of time. When we consider our relationship with God, it’s also important for us to surround ourselves with committed believers.
