June 16, 2023

We’ll take a peek into the Christian’s wardrobe today on The Dwelling Place, and see what we are to wear!  Pastor Al Pittman is leading us on a journey through Colossians right now, and we have reached the middle of chapter three. Fortunately for us, our Lord cares enough about us to lay out our clothes in Scripture, so we know what to put on.

Being a Christian in a secular world isn’t always easy is it? You might even see the conflict between righteousness and worldliness on the job every day. The temptations are everywhere. But, as we’ll see in our study today, Christians are supposed to set themselves above the ways of the world - by displaying unity. It’s a lofty goal, but one that is certainly not beyond our reach.

Today on The Dwelling Place, we’ll again look at the relationship between Old Testament Law, and the Grace of Jesus Christ. This is not to imply that God’s law is obsolete, but we must integrate our adherence to the Law, with our understanding that we’ve been sanctified and set apart through our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Today on The Dwelling Place, we’ll see the Apostle Paul having a dangerous experience and how we can all learn from Paul’s reaction. Turn to Acts twenty-seven and follow along with us.

The law exists for a purpose, but too many Christians today are hung up on ritual and laws. That’s exactly what Paul addresses in the section of Colossians we’ll look at today. Turn to Colossians two, verses sixteen through twenty-three, and we’ll join Pastor Al Pittman.

We’re currently enjoying a journey through the book of Colossians, and once again, we see the incredible inspired word of God coming through in this letter from Paul to the church in Colossi. Do you think God knew two thousand years ago how relevant these words would be for us today? Of course He did! Colossians chapter two has much to teach us about false teachers, and the true source of security and happiness- our Lord Jesus Christ.

We’ve just begun a study of Colossians chapter two, so turn there in your Bible and join us for today’s edition of The Dwelling Place.

Do you ever feel as though your not up to the task, that you just don’t have the ability to do something?  The marvelous thing about the Christian life is that we are not called to rely on our own sufficiency, but rather on the sufficiency of Christ.  Pastor Al will address several precepts today that will help us get on a road to ministry that is beyond our natural abilities.
