Faith Relations - Fathers and Children Part 2

April 24, 2019

If you’re a parent, I’m sure you could use some encouraging words about raising Godly kids. It’s a tough job, isn’t it? But God has a specific plan for us parents - and He’s always there for us in those times when we become frustrated.  Today’s study is in Colossians chapter three, verses twenty and twenty one.

For the last couple of broadcasts, Al has been discussing Husbands and Wives, and today we’re going to move along to the other members of the family - the kids. Children are a real blessing - and a real challenge. But God knows what’s best when it comes to raising Godly children. I think we can all testify to the fact that there are a lot of parents out there who could really use a refresher course in raising kids properly.

We come back to pastor Al Pittman’s look at Husbands and Wives today, as we consider Colossians three, verses eighteen and nineteen.  Wives submitting to their husbands has been a controversial subject for as long as people have been reading these verses. The only reason there’s any controversy is that people have consistently misinterpreted what Paul’s meaning is.

Today we’re going to bring you the final message from pastor Al Pittman’s passion series. The resurrection of Jesus was without question the most significant event in human history. If Jesus had died on the cross and not risen from the dead, then you and I would still be condemned due to our sins. But the truth is He is risen indeed! Join us for one final look at the most wonderful act of love ever performed - the resurrection of Jesus.

Today we’ll bring you another message in pastor Al’s mini series for the passion week. Jesus suffered a painful and humiliating death on a cross. But if the story ended there, where would we be? We’d still be condemned for our sins. But Jesus rose from the dead! Hallelujah to that!

Today we’ll bring you the conclusion of a message pastor Al Pittman began yesterday, looking at one of the most well-known and important events in the bible - The Lord’s entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Is Jesus riding into town on the back of a colt important? Very much so! It fulfilled Old Testament prophecy and proved once again that Jesus is who He said He is - the messiah.

Today, Pastor Al Pittman begins a four day mini series on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. We will be looking at the Gospel of John, chapter twelve.  It’s here that John speaks of what many have termed, the Triumphal Entry of Christ.  It is Jesus’ last week on earth, and as prophecy has foretold, He is about to enter the city of Jerusalem on a donkey’s colt.

The people of Colossi were not too different from believers today - they tended to stray away from their faith and trust themselves to find the answers to a fulfilling life. Paul’s letter is designed to lead them back to Christ. Today’s study is in Colossians chapter three, verses fifteen through seventeen, and the priorities of a believer.

Did you realize that it’s important that the Christian get dressed up - spiritually speaking?  We’ll take a peek into the Christian’s wardrobe today on The Dwelling Place, and see what we are to wear!  Pastor Al Pittman is leading us on a journey through Colossians right now, and we have reached the middle of chapter three. Fortunately for us, our Lord cares enough about us to lay out our clothes in Scripture, so we know what to put on.

Pastor Al’s topic today will once again be division within the church. Being a Christian in a secular world isn’t always easy is it? You might even see the conflict between righteousness and worldliness on the job every day. The temptations are everywhere. But, as we’ll see in our study today, Christians are supposed to set themselves above the ways of the world - by displaying unity. It’s a lofty goal, but one that is certainly not beyond our reach.
