Every year at this time, people become obsessed with gift shopping. We want to find the”perfect” gift for that loved one or friend. Is there any such a thing as a “perfect gift”? There has been only one, and that’s the one pastor Nathan will talk about today as we head over to Luke chapter two for message titled “A Gift Is Given”.

How good are you at keeping promises? Most of us would say we are pretty reliable, but let’s face it - we don’t have a 100 percent record when it comes to keeping promises. Know who doesn’t though? God! And that perfect record was wonderfully illustrated about two thousand years ago when He promised a messiah, and He delivered.

Today we’ll be looking at Luke chapter one, verses twenty-six through forty-five, and a message titled “A Promise Kept”. And oh, what. promise it was. The world back then was in much the same condition as we are today - they were desperately in need of a savior. God promised them one, and as we know, God always keeps his promises.

Pastor Al Pittman will take us to Acts four today as we see Peter and John arrested. Arrested for what? Performing miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit. Now the folks in charge around those parts didn’t appreciate being upstaged power-wise, so they arrested them.

If satan can get a Christian; and especially a Christian leader, to be proud, devastation can follow.  To help us reject this tactic of the devil, we join pastor Al in Acts chapter fourteen, and a message titled “Sustaining Presence”.

It’s only the gospel that is the power of God unto salvation.  On today’s edition of The Dwelling Place, we’ll be inspired to hold to the truth of the gospel despite the response.

We’ve been going verse by verse through the book of Acts, and today, we will be finishing chapter thirteen. It was pretty early on in Paul’s evangelical ministry when he realized that the message he was sharing was being rejected by a lot of people. He was telling the people that the gospel message was for everyone - whether you were jewish or gentile.

Pastor Al continues in the book of Acts today, and what he will remind us of is one of the most important truths we find in the bible - when we receive Jesus as savior, we immediately become an enemy of the world. But the cool thing about it is, God knows we will make enemies when we start following Him, and He’ll carry us through the difficult times we’ll surely face.
December 14, 2021
Today, we’ll jump right back into our verse by verse journey through Acts. And what a journey it is! Paul and his cohorts are spreading the message of salvation throughout the land, and the reaction they get varies quite a bit.
