Blessed For Success Part 1b

October 26, 2020

Just as the church of Ephesus lost their first love, some fall into that same trap today.  There is much mayhem around us these days, and it’s easy to see how we can put God lower on our priority list. The good news for those that have is there is a remedy, and pastor Al Pittman will reveal the solution today.

Today we’ll be looking at the Lord’s postcard to the church in Ephesus. The Ephesians were firm in their belief in the Lord as Savior, and their doctrine was strong, but they had walked away from their emotional attachment to Him.  Their love had grown cold.  It happened to the Ephesians and it’s still happening to Christians today.

Jesus warned us that the world would only get worse, as the end of the age approaches.  As natural disasters ravage the earth, false prophets mislead millions, and wars and conflicts continue, it’s not hard to see that Jesus’ words are very true!  In these last days, the Lord wants us to reflect His light.

Revelation is an often times misunderstood and a neglected book. It can be daunting, to say the least, but as we go verse by verse through these chapters, I think you’ll come away with a new found knowledge and appreciation for it.  And you’ll walk away from it learning a great deal about Jesus and who He is!  And His will and purpose for the church and you!

Today marks the end of a lengthy, enjoyable, and profitable journey for us as we put the finishing touches on our study of the Psalms.  It ends in grand fashion with triumphant praise to God, and that’s a fitting note to end on I’m sure you’d agree.

You and I are great creations. We’ve been created to praise and worship God, and the sooner we realize and do that, the better off we’ll be!  For our purpose in life will never be realized until we do what we’ve been created for.  Pastor Al Pittman takes us now to Psalm 145

Pastor Al Pittman will be in Psalm 145 today, where we read some wonderful words of praise from King David. This Psalm is loved by millions of Christians, because it so enthusiastically describes God’s wonderful love for His people.

When you think about it, it almost should embarrass us that we have to be reminded to praise God. After all, where would we be without Him? God deserves our devotion, our unstinting love, and our perpetual praise! Here now to encourage us to answer that call is pastor Al Pittman.

Maybe as we find you today you feel as though there is little to nothing to be thankful for.  Your life is a mess, people are being cruel to you, your job is being threatened, and you’re in debt up to your ears.  Well, the good news is that in Christ there is something to be thankful for.  Here’s pastor Al, to urge us to count our blessings and praise God for them.

If you’re a regular listener, you know that we have spent considerable time this year going verse by verse through the Psalms. It’s been an incredible journey, and today, Pastor Al Pittman will be opening Psalms143, where the Psalmist David cries out to the Lord for help once again.

Maybe this is a difficult season of life for you right now, and if so, keep listening as a sea of encouragement from God’s Word is straight ahead. Our first reaction when we face difficulty is to try and fight back with our own strength. That’s doesn’t make a lot of sense if we consider how powerful God is!  We’ll be continuing pastor Al Pittman’ study of the Psalms today, and we pick it up at the beginning of Psalm 142.
