The Breakthrough Comes After You Persevere

Rabbi K.A. Schneider: Not long ago, I felt a heaviness. I was pressing on, and I was persevering. I was dealing with some issues that were weighty: responsibilities, things I needed to work through, and circumstances. But I focused. I stayed straight in my walk with God. I rose above my emotions, and I rose above what I was feeling.
My wife said to me, "I'm really proud of you." I said, "Wow, what are you proud of me about?" She said, "Your persevering." She knew what I was dealing with, and even though emotionally I was feeling heavy—I felt the darkness and the weight of everything—still, despite what I was feeling, I kept focused. I kept my eye on the ball. I kept putting one foot in front of the other, taking care of my responsibility and ordering my steps after the Lord.
When she said she was proud of me because I was persevering, it meant so much to me because persevering is important. James said, "And let endurance have its perfect result"—endurance is perseverance—"so that you might be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
I want to encourage you. When you're having a hard day, continue to persevere. Continue to stay grounded in the Lord because you're going to be made strong through that perseverance. In being made strong, you're going to get breakthrough.
