Why God Gave You More Than Just a Brain
“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).
Cynthia Schneider: Welcome to Seeds of Revelation. Today's short devotional is presented by Rabbi Kirt Schneider.
Rabbi K.A. Schneider: Beloved, we serve such an awesome God. He is our intelligent designer. Look at everything he designed and created all around us. He has intelligence, cognition, will, and he's creative. This is the God we serve, and in Genesis 1:27, he told us that he made us in his image.
That means that we have intelligence, cognition, and all the creativity that God has given us. It’s a beautiful thing, and we love to embrace this cognition. It helps us to survive in life. We know how to survive in life and all the skills that we need throughout life. We can think about all the alternatives about what we’re going to do.
Beloved, there are times when the Holy Spirit calls us to look outside of our thinking cognition and start to breathe in the world around us through our senses. God gave us senses and he gave us emotions to experience the world. Adam and Eve took the bite of the apple of the knowledge of good and evil, and that was the beginning of destruction.
They didn’t understand the balance that God wants to keep us in, where we experience the fullness of his life. It’s not just about knowledge. With all the technology that we have, we can become consumed with knowledge, but God wants us to use our other senses to experience the fullness of life.
Sometimes, as I’ve been up here in the woods in the forest, I’ve felt like the Holy Spirit was saying, "Don't get lost in the trees of your thoughts and your trying to figure everything out. Trying to think about what your tasks are, your schedule, and all the things of how your brain is trying to think and figure everything out."
One time, the Lord spoke to Rabbi and told him to take the detail out of the details. I think that's what he was telling me when I came up here. Don't get lost in the trees. Go up and see the beauty of the fullness of the relational, spiritual, emotional, sensual life that God has created.
Today, I just want to encourage you to come out of your brain sometimes to experience the fullness of life and get away from that technology, too.

Central to the LORD’s plan is Israel and the Jewish people. Romans 11:11 explains that the Gentile believer has been chosen by God to bring the witness of the LORD to the Jewish people. As this message of Yeshua is brought back to, and received by, the Jewish people, they will say, “Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai” – “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD!” and in so doing, usher in Yeshua’s return (Matthew 23:39).
