Baptism is a significant act and Jesus even gave the commandment as part of the great commission. Yet, we see many believers who have opposing viewpoints against baptism or otherwise they simply won't be baptized. Why is that? And do you find yourself in that same mindset?

In part, water baptism is a commitment to Jesus Christ. It demonstrates a willing identification to and with Christ. Similarly, when Jesus was baptized, part of the reason for that was His desire to demonstrate to a watching world the unity between Himself and the Father. As Christians we are able to proclaim our identification to Jesus and the Father through baptism if we are willing.

Christians who have decided to follow Christ have kept the ordinance of baptism throughout the ages. Some have understood the significance of their water baptism while others haven't really. But the importance of baptism is simply that Jesus said to do it. Discover what it means to be baptized.

God has established certain traditions that have been passed down in the Word of God, that are to be kept by all Christians for all times. These ordinances, as they have been called, could also be thought of as 'celebrations of the gospel.' Are you aware of the celebrations that Jesus instituted and how the Lord would have those celebrations stir up a joy in our hearts for God?

One of the most difficult things in life is to break out of the traditions of men. In Matthew 15 Jesus was making the point that traditions that God has not instituted keep us from God verses bringing us close to Him. The question is which traditions are from God and which are simply traditions of men?
