Paul said the priority of a ministry should be to "Preach the word." By knowing what is in the Word—by knowing doctrine—you will know what is important to God, you will get the emphasis He gives to it, and you will get it in its proper context.

Psalm 65 gives us a good example for prayers as we face the future. It speaks of the troubles all around, but there is no complaining. Instead, the psalm is full of praise to God for His spiritual as well as His natural blessings to mankind.
