The city of Corinth was a very permissive society, so First Corinthians was written to deal with a variety of problems in the church. There was a lack of unity, and the believers were very immature spiritually.

Although the early part of the book of Acts tells about many of the apostles, the latter part centers on the work of Paul. But even he is not the main character of this book. It actually could be called the "Acts of the Holy Spirit."
