Have a Bible Question? Ask Pastor Mike! https://askpastormike.live/

Pastor Mike: Let’s get back to your question here about gambling. Will gambling send a person to hell? Will they go to hell until they repent of gambling? Everyone is going to hell, no matter what their sin is, until they repent.

When we repent, there are so many things we repent of. A whole-life repentance happens when we become Christians, saying, "God, I repent of my life away from you, apart from you, being a sheep wandering in my own direction."

You could have someone who is clearly a brother or sister in Christ going to heaven who never repented of gambling because they didn't think it was a sin. As you point out in your first question, there are some pastors who pat them on the back, saying as long as they are not out of control, it is fine.

In that regard, there are plenty of things you and I both probably haven't repented of because we haven't even seen the conviction of it yet. Maybe God is starting with the biggest issues in our lives, and I am not even going to live long enough to get to the most granular issues.

I have already tried to prioritize this in the sense that it is not the biggest issue on the horizon unless it has become an addiction that is destroying your family. I hope that helps, Gina.

Churchgoers Just Admitted Something Troubling

The world is wearing out Christians. More and more are saying that spiritual matters rarely come up in their conversations with other believers. Our culture hasn't silenced us, we have talked ourselves into silence. Where Christians should be having an impact, they are stepping aside instead of stepping up.

If you want to break your silence and shine a light into this culture, be sure to request the book Making a Difference by R.C. Sproul.
